Trying to see if my knocksum is dangerous, it hit 5 while normal driving.

91 0ct? you need to post a pic of your timing map, and fuel map, 2. of each, 1 with just the map and the other just the 3d graph thingy.
im seeing some crazy high timing numbers your hitting. the highest my map goes on 91oct, is +31 deg.

need more input! u tuned? what rom u on? how u logging boost? u need a map sensor. u logging afr? u need a wideband. you need to log. load 1byte

I'm not tuning nor do I know anything about tuning. I was just trying to see if I'm safe till I get a tune, could my intake be throwing my Numbers off this bad?

Sir I guess he needs your wise on this, there is a post about amateur tuners, I guess that could be his starting point. I just get a tactrix cable, so tune an evo It's not try and fix.

Ok then. No, your not safe. And no the intake is not affecting your timing. Now go get tuned. Can't help you if you can't help your self.

I noticed a slight misfire this morning when warming up my car.. Maybe its not the intake and could be the misfire? If its not the intake why would I randomly need a tune? exhaust?

The car was bone stock when I got it though

Try turning the ignition to on, with engine off. and hold the gas pedal all the way down for 3 seconds. If you have a dual tune the engine light will flash a few times and u will here some slight noise.

and if that does happen, what do I do after..

Also, not trying to argue. But I think the intake is doing something wrong.. When I put it in my boost level dropped from a steady 18 to a steady 15... Also once in a while when I come to a stop the engine tries to stall

Sounds like you may have a boost leak @ the BOV and upper ic piping . Or a leak in between the turbo and MAF sensor. All holes are properly pluged on the intake pipe?

all holes are plugged all clamps were quadruple checked. Would a boost leak cause those numbers?

It was directly after the intake install that the boost dropped

In regards to the map switching. As an example. My car is set up with 2 maps 1 e85 and the other 91oct. The main map is for 91oct so if I reset my battery it will go back to the 91 tune/map automatically.

What boost controller?

Which numbers are high? SO I know what to look for in the future.. I may take off the fujita and put in my drop in filter see if that helps anything.. Also the link that evo_jfa posted, the OP of that post says he was hitting 4-7 counts of knock on a stock EVO IX

Post up your map. Thats the only way to see if there is something funky going on there. All your vacume lines from the stock boost controller to the waste gate are good?

Get/download/install ECU FLASH. Open connect tactrix cable. Turn ign on, no start though. The read rom" icon should turn on. Hit that, it will read the rom. If its stock. If not there are other steps to read it.

1. I did the gas pedal thing.. no flashing..
2. I installed ECU flash, opened it. Pressed read ECU and it said [13:18:34.269] This vehicle interface does not support needed features.
[13:18:34.269] unable to connect to vehicle interface.
[13:18:34.269] interface close

Ok, sounds like you have a modified rom then. If I were u. I would head over to evoM look up tephra v7 mod in the tech/tuning. Download the map that suits your needs. And go from there

here we go i searched the trouble code your cable gave you and came up with this. http://forums.evolutionm.net/ecuflash/236732-problem-reading-ecu-ecuflash-2.html
first go to your control panel/device maniger/ports. with the cable pluged in it should say Open port 1.3r
if not basically try loading the proper drivers. or contact tactrix

I checked my plugs. Cleaned em and put stock intake back and now im knocking 2 MAX but timing still looks like its up

I'm fine, here trying to learn something new from you. I just bought a tactrix cable. I finally decide to stop buying crap and starting tuning my evo. I need to read a lot, maybe later I'll post asking for help :P

No updates besides that second log.. its not knocking as bad, and not consistent, so I think ill be alright until I get funds for UICP and a tune
