View Full Version : Ran over something, damage, now what?

The other day, I ran over something. From the looks of it, it was a manhole cover approximately 9 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. WTF Damage!Â* :'( Two passenger-side rims bent and cracked and tires split along the sidewalls.

So to cut to the chase, the insurance had the two passenger-side rims 'fixed' (instead of replaced as I thought was needed) and tires replaced.

Aside from the fact that the insurance company said I was 100% at fault, the car now vibrates when I drive and the steering seems loose (could just be different alignment than I'm used to).

So, I'm sad... And don't know what to do to resolve this situation. I want my Evo back to spec, damn it!

Any recommendations on a good suspension/wheel shop to fix my Evo? (pics to follow)

Take it to Muller or any other shop of that kind and have them check it out. You could have torn some bushings or maybe even blown out a strut or shock. Its impossible to diagnose from behind a computer screen so go to a shop and have them record any damage that could have occurred from the hit. If anything is found send the report from the shop to your insurance and have them cover it. Its disappointing that they just repaired wheels that were cracked. I hate dealing with insurance. I feel your pain.

Even sadder... is that this Evo isn't even 2 months old. :(

That's the best thing to do, and the insurance company shouldn't concluded that it's your fault. Let us know how it goes. Cause you have pictures to prove the situation.

Mueller is really close to me. I'll check them out, too. Thanks for the help. :smitten:

We have a straight set of oem evo x wheels here we can use to diagnose the chassis, both how the wheel alignment measures out and also to be able to drive the car and evaluate it.
