View Full Version : Problem after installing AMS gate selector bushing

I just got finished installing the bushing and after putting everything back together on the rocker arm, I ran into the issue of the 2 12mm bolts not lining up correctly with the threaded holes.

I've attempted to try either side first, hooking up the vertical bushing first, hooking up the vertical bushing last, reassembling the rocker arm, and readjusting the lock nut on the rocker arm. I don't feel like the gate bushing can be removed once it's set so I feel that that's out of the question. Not sure what I did wrong and I'm trying to get some suggestions/feedback. Have any of you guys ran into this issue?

Or swing by RRE they can figure out anything on an Evo ... Hell Mitsubishi goes to them for advice!

Two troubleshooting tips:

Put the new part and the stock part side by side on a table and see how they stack up to each other. Lay them down side by side, stand them up side by side...

Try putting the stock stuff back on and see if all is good.

Mike,

I would but the AMS part doesn't seem to want to come out anymore. Not sure how to extract it as it seems fairly brittle, to an extent.

I will try them if all else fails.

RRE is quite a drive for me given the condition that my car is in, i'd rather not drive too far if at all on one bolt.
