This is honestly sickening that a person is thriving off the intellectual ability of A REAL TUNER in our community. I hope this opens a lot of people eyes to the true identity of "Btack", what type of man he really is, and how little he knows about your car with these tunes he is selling you. YOU ARE A THIEF! Plain and simple. There is no debates here, only proof.

I don't care if you are happy with your btack tune or you love this guy to death personally, you should tell all your friends in the community what is doing and why they should stay away from him. We are a community and we should all come together and exile this person from ours, I don't know about you guys but it seems its hard to find integrity in the modified car culture and this is one example why, I've never met a single car enthusiast that doesn't hate thief's. So i ask everyone, why should anyone condone or support this snake?

Recently i was sent a map from someone Tuned by Btack.
I quickly realized whose map it was and decided to compare a few things
Opened his old map (mine) and the maps i made for Btack when i tuned his car .......

AND WTF DO YOU KNOW I found that the map is a DIRECT copy of most of my work from the original tune and Btacks tune I did put together.

I have taken the liberty of comparing all the relevant maps that make a difference and put them in this spreadsheet to show everyone...... let's start out with what's EXACTLY the SAME (the pics are of the differences in the maps)

• Ignition timing
• Maf scaling (Critical for all fueling )
• 3x Map tables (also critical for all fueling)
• Intake Mivec

And for whats basically identical

• WGDC (both pump and e85) Look at the pic, clearly copy paste
• boost targets
• Exhaust mivec

And what is slightly different

• fuel map , used to change AFR to his liking.


This BASE rom that was on this car was LOAD based mine was PSI, however the AP map i did for Btack was load and i compared that. There are more tables that are the same but don't matter that much
Its CLEAR that this is a blatant Copy and paste of my maps into the "TUNES" he is selling. This is not the FIRST time I've found this either. He even copied one of the the AXIS that I change number for number (that i have yet to see anyone else change but me) and has COPIED the ID's I leave in spots in the maps that ID it as mine........

In short this kid is a THEIF.

if you did these tunes under a legal business license, and sold as a per user basis then like software you can prove intellectual property. IMHO have a pretty good case in claims court, wouldn't matter if it was reported taxed income or not.

software has some very stringent regulations, I think this software is no different.

Yeah actually im skeptical i was actually planning to take my car to him, from what i understand he was already learning how to tune and tuned his own car but still went to jon for a second opinion from a guy thats been in the business longer but i guess he didnt like the result so he went back and tweaked the same tune jon did to his car and from there i think thats when it all started, from there hes been offering people a free or pay less for retunes if you were tuned by 5150 and promised to do a better job.

but since bryan did temper a signatured tune and calls it his i think he is avoiding to physicly say yes he copied and paste jons bad tunes to any forums cuz jon can use that againts him by Law. Even though bryans intension was just to prove those guys that Jon could have done better than what he did those cars.

UH no. Bryan is putting more aggressive tunes on peoples cars than i prefer to use. I have dozens of cars with 80K + miles on my tunes on 91 and ive tuned over 400 evo x.

The TUNE that i FOUND ON HIS BUDDIES ECU is COPY AND PASTED EXACTLY FROM MY MAPS
USING SOME OF THE MAPS I PUT ON BTACKS CAR that he claims weren't good.......

TBH the way I see it, everyone who obviously needs to know, knows. No need for blowing up FB or any other forums anymore. I understand what he did was completely unethical but you're just feeding the fire and its never going to stop at this rate. He should fess up to what he "allegedly" did. I say allegedly because it hasn't been made officially official by an official what he officially did. Take it to court, end it with a settlement, take his business license (if he has one), and call it a day. I know a lot of people are pissed, I'd be the first to blow up if it happened to me personally trust me, but the only real way to settle it and make him admit what he did is through court. Just my 2 cents...

So then it would backlash on Jon because what he is doing is technically illegal on a street car. I think all tuners in the state of CA have people sign waivers that have that disclosure on there. That what they are about to perform is not for road use blah blah blah.

you don't need a copyright to prove IP(see TM), its software. the context of the transaction and what the end user does with it is not relevant. I think the bigger question is would it even be worth it.


software is a lot like music, while copyright is important in getting money, when its sold though a seller whom does not recognize the trademark IP. you can still prove TM as yours and get rights to remove/cease, even though there is no formal copyright to force monies thought the courts. however after this is done you may get a copyright (r) after action and get paid!!

It kinda sucks cause then CA would have a reason to pass a law that says you can't mod an ECU and all our Evo's would have to be exported to Mexico where the cartels would strip them and use them as mules and slaves to ship drugs around the country and they wouldnt get the proper details, fuel, spirited driving, and love they deserve :( I'm scared...

But one day he said he bought an intake and an accessport and told me he tuned his car and was putting out 330hp. That's when I started distancing the friendship. I straight told him that that was impossible. He swore it was true. But I let it go.

We cruised to a few meets… I went to his Friday night meets… and then one day he tells me he shaved off the back of his gas peddle so he could push the peddle closer to the floor to make the car go faster… I was like, "what the fuk? is this the 1940's?" That's when I knew to stay away… He'd hit me up and asked if I wanted him to tune my car last year… I said, "no." And then I never heard from him again.

But I've been watching his tunes curious as to when people were going to notice or realize that he's barely had his own Evo for a year which means he's been tuning for far less than a year with no training, experience, etc...

Idk, I hate bashing on people… I always try to keep things positive and keep good vibes, but like people have said… we're a community and people should watch out for each other… I'd hate to see something bad happen to someone's car or worst… happen to them.

Ya to me he is exactly what i don't want the car scene going unfortunly, never met the guy ( but he does want to race my STI but won't race me in my evo go figure ) but have heard plenty of instances where he wants to be a hothead and get physical. I have been following that thread and know the backstory and the fact that he just trys to use what happened to Jon years ago ( which got fully taken care of btw) as a excuse for what he is doing now is just inexcusable. Jon made right on what happened back then so as far as im concerned thats water under the bridge at this point, but Bryan is trying to blame other people for HIS mistakes which just shows what kind of character you have as a person.

Does it suck that it got to this point ? Of course it does but when you have someone that talks crap behind your back, then straight to your face and hits up your customers trying to "tune " their car for cheap at some point enough is enough. The facebook thread at this point has become a hilarious trollfest but when you have a few tuners say the exact same thing maybe you should open your eyes a little bit.

I think the solution to this would be a Dyno showoff stock cars with no map and go from there, if your as good as you say you are should be able to do that no problem but i don't think that will ever happen because at this point Bryan won't even comment.

I seriously don't understand why people feel the need to take someone's tunes and try to start tuning peoples cars. I mean it makes no sense to me. The risks of things going wrong is too much of a risk and the reward is not there. It's actually lunacy to me. Now for those who are pros I understand because it's their livelihood and it's something they are usually passionate about. Honestly for me I would love to learn not so I could tune other people's cars but just so I can understand the basics myself and tweak little things here and there when I go to the track. Not sure if there's a class I can take that teaches me how to tune but that is something I have contemplated doing just for my personal situational awareness. I think aem has a class but not sure. I would love to learn how to be fluent in tuning the stock ecu and maybe a aem with that flex fuel technology.

I think at this point btack is not looking to beat a 5150 tuned car. He is looking to show its not the same. At this point he's looking to show any difference be it lose or win. To everyone who want's to jump on the "I copy everyone's tunes" Bandwagon. The tune in question that Jon has been posting everywhere is from a guy who came to me previously tuned by 5150. His car was getting 5-6 counts of knock on every pull from 5-7k rpm. I pulled some timing out of that tune to bring the knock down to 0. Mivec was slightly adjusted and the rest of the tune was left alone. That is why the tune is the same as his. I spoke with the guy who's car it was Friday night and he knows exactly what happened.

Everyone who knows me, knows I was tuning my car long before I let Jon touch my car. I have no need to copy anyone's maps. Everyone who tune's cars knows you learn from everything you see. The truth of the matter is when I went in for a tune he adjusted my 91 tune slightly and said I did a good job on my tune. Go do some research on EvoXforums of my old post prior to me getting tuned by Jon. I posted all my own tunes on there. As far as the e85 tune goes I was going to do my own tune But Jon Insisted on letting him do it, which I did.

The map in question couldn't be my base rom, because many other things were stock, where I modify them. Only the mapping critical to the fuel, ignition, and Mivec were copied over from 2 separate (different) roms to this one......

I offered to help you out because all I saw on the forums was people would get no response from you after you started they're etunes waiting months for response. It was a friendly offer at the time because we were "Friends" and I didn't want to see you get a bad name.

People came to me to ask me to tune them long before I ever posted anything as far as advertising goes. The first 20 tunes I did were all 91 tunes.

My own e85 tune was changed way before I tuned anyone else. Why? Because when I asked you why my fuel trims were way off you said "That's because you rice too much". and offered no help. Not to mention my AFR's were at 10.3 (Gas ratios) and I have videos that show that if you want to question that. So from that point on My tune changed and I did my own thing

The first person I ever tuned was Enrique. Why I tuned him? Because he was tuned by 2 other shop previously and my car was still faster than his so he wanted me to tune him. They weren't exactly the same. They were similar because when I tuned his car he asked me to keep the tune very conservative. one of my old tune's was pretty conservative so I used it as a base map. Almost all the tunes I've seen are similar minus a few degree's of timing here and there.

The v401 Cobb Base maps that I used to start tuning with weren't made by you FYI. But from what you've told me about every tuner is they all use your maps.

Damn...this just comes to prove that he has no respect for the business aspect of it. I deal with a lot of construction/build-out job walks at work and the lowest bid isn't always the best to go with. If everyone bid low just to get customer's, there would be no integrity to the market. Soon enough, you stop caring for quality and just work to get more jobs done to make up for the low prices you have. With someone charging 100$ for something that would usually cost closer to 300$ or more should throw up a flag to some people. The way I see it, the faster you climb, the harder you'll fall. You have to work your way up the ladder.
