There is nothing specific if this is going to be the last "special edition"Evo X that will be coming stateside, although it is promising.

As a Mitsubishi USA executive said in a report a month ago (http://www.carscoops.com/2014/11/mitsubishi-sending-off-lancer-evo-x.html), Mitsubishi will say goodbye to the Lancer Evo X with a special edition model that will bring performance and styling upgrades. Scheduled to be unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon (January 9-11), the last model based on the Evolution X is called Final Concept and is based on the GSR variant.

The car benefits from a series of styling upgrades including a matte black paint, gloss finish on parts such as the roof and rear spoiler and a chrome finish on the grille.

But the most interesting updates are beneath the skin, as the Evo X Final Concept gets a significant engine upgrade including a turbocharger by HKS, new intake, exhaust, cooling system and a new ECU, all of which help the 2.0-liter engine produce 473hp (480PS). Power is sent to all wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Other performance upgrades include a HKS height adjustable sport suspension and forged aluminum wheels by RAYS, shod with 19-inch Yokohama Advan Neovas tyres.

We’re not sure whether the limited production model will be identical with the Final Concept, but we hope Mitsubishi will offer the same performance package when the special series version reaches US shores in summer 2015.

As a reminder, the standard 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine producing 291hp at 6,500 rpm and 300 lb-ft (406 Nm) of torque from 4,000 rpm.

The math does not add up between the price that they would need to charge to include all the HK$ stuff vs what people would actually pay vs the cost to warranty such a car vs their lame US dealer network vs what it would cost to CARB and Federal certify all the mods and tune. Will not happen here and seems like wild speculation even for countries with more relaxed emissions laws. They cant even figure out how to get their money together here in the US to put real seats in the normal 2015, and you think they would actually sell and people would buy this for what it would cost to run this through their normal sales channels? Some dealers are marking up the 2015 with Prancer seats, imagine the markup on top of the $70k retail price for this car... Pure mental masturbation I say. They stopped making EVOs in 2006. Time to get over it.

I'm holding out for the SAM while being too optimistic in hopes that the Evo X will have price worthy upgrades.

maybe they can sale as special order... I don't think mitsubishi is able to sale a lot of them in CA. But if someone is able to buy it as Off-road vehicle.. it's the only way that I see it. or buy the parts built your own SE edition and be happy adding the parts that you really want :)

HK$ has not been relevant to making Mitsubishis fast since the mid 1990s.

Here is what that lame yellow filter will look like after a few months:

High flow indeed if they don't seal. They always shrink up and pull away from the edges. 20 years of this design and they still do it.

Which year evo was this? How can this be possible, was it stock muffler?

Pretty sure it might have just been a joke with the probability of some truth behind it.

Like I have time to make up shit like this :-P

EVO 8/9 with a HK$ canister JDM foo-foo muffler. Inside all the 3" piping and phat 5" tips they always put a restrictor. Always.

http://roadraceengineering.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/20150108_233125.jpg

That is looking in the HK$ phat 5" tip at a 3" ID muffler with a 2.5" restriction. Dude sells his entire setup except for the exhaust system to his buddy. Put it all on his buddies car and the car is down on power. What is different? Stupid JDM wannabe exhaust. Drop the restrictive JDM stuff and run the car mufflerless and there is the power.

I have run stock exhausts on 2 EVOs, an HKS carbon Ti on 1 EVO, and the RRE stealth on 2 EVOs. The Stealth is the best for many reasons. One of them is dyno sheets, which actually is the last reason I want it...but it is a nice perk.

If you search around, you will find no less than 50 threads dealing with this issue in relation to various aftermarket exhausts.

ohhh mike.. I feel sorry for the sparking JDM muffer along with the JDM Stickers :applause: Dyno proven parts is the best to get :)

what about Ti exhausts any cons besides the loud and police attention magnet? All JDM exhaust have 2.5 restrictions?
