I have this neighbor who has a fully stripped and caged burnt orange E36 M3 with a CSL wing and 500 stickers + number plates on the doors and hood. I don't know if I am just getting old or if this guy is really a jackass but he just looks like a fool going to work or dinner in a car that is more stripped out than a lot of the cars I see on the track. I feel like he went too far. His car is also SUPER loud and he drives like a kook through the neighborhood to the point where my neighbors have asked me if I know him because I also drive a stupid car. Last, this dude is a rolling bust. If I was a cop, I would laugh, pull his ass over, and laugh in his face while giving him 500 tickets. The car is no longer a street car and it seems ludicrous to drive it every day.

There are a couple other M3 and non M3 E36 DDs in my neighborhood that are in various degrees of super stripped track/dd cars and they are so loud and shitty track styled but these dudes have to use their cars every day and it just seems ridiculous. This seems to be a trend right now in my area, specifically with old E36 BMWs.

This is what keeps me from modding my Evo. I enjoy having a clean, stock , low mileage evo to just to drive around. I've been there done that with my supercharged cobra. Yea it's fun DD a high hp car but isn't very comfortable lol.

I had an FP red with full bolt ons to support (Kelford 272's, ETS 3.5" + short route piping, FIC 1050cc...etc)
Recently went back to stock (Finished literally 2 days ago) because of a state ref, and HOLY CRAP I forgot how nicely a stock evo drives. Feels so responsive and its nice to have decent bottom end.
My previous set up was really fun and I learned a lot, but DD'ing something that feels like a slug under 4k rpms is no fun for a daily.
I told myself to stay stock, I dont know how long I can hold out. But next time around I will definitely pick parts that wont make it a drag to drive in slow moving traffic.

I DD my 2.3 on a fp black with a competition twin disc clutch every where I go. It's not difficult for me to drive anywhere be it in traffic or not. I believe my set-up is very street friendly, docile but if you want the power its def there.

2.3s are really nice for DD. I have been driving one for a while now and I love it compared to stock and modded 2.0s.

noise level: you can do anything you want, and still have no problems leaving a stop light with a cop behind you then its all good. IMHO if you have to worry about this scenario then a harsh ride is the least of your problems.

in socal, removing your A/C is nasty.....

I don't think I could own and evo as my sole/only primary transportation.

2.3 with a small-ish turbo is the way to go. I DD mine with a JB Green.

As for AC, I just took mine out and am not really missing it as I can just roll down the windows here in SD. It's my DD and not the family car so there is that concession. If we do anything long trip or with a group, we'll take the '10 X MR.

Wow, how far did you have to go for the state ref? You can leave the cams and injectors in right? IC piping too I would hope?

I see a cool air intake. Its got a Nos fogger system and a T4 turbo. I see an AIC controller. It has direct-port nitrous injection.

Not a bad way to spend 10,000 dollars.

Just keep it low key so you don't get pulled over :)
