Google!!!!!!
Google!!!!!!
Started on Evo-M but I was looking for something more local and luckily found SCE!
My brother initially, but my buddy was the main one.
googling parts and questions lead me to coming here
Pro Skater Daniel Espinoza led me here
Did a search on Google as soon as I bough my evo:)
I found it from the googles
The previous owner of my car told me about this site and said it was a good resource...boy was he wrong!!
Back in 03/04, i think i stumbled upon it while looking for info. My buddy had picked one up and we were modding it.
Around the same time, I recall we were driving around LA, and a guy in a RR 03 w/ bronze CE28s did a couple of pulls right in front of us. We chased him down and he was an older dude, and had just had RRE do cams, headwork, turbo upgrade, JICs IIRC, etc. I think it was Robi. Anyway the car hauled ass and sounded nuts. That was burned into my memory. I was 20 years old at the time and all evos, especially fast ones, were amazing.
I think the first Evo meet i went to was at XS Engineering back in 04. Lots of SCE guys there. I remember they did a few dyno pulls in a pretty heavily modded (especially for the time) Evo. I want to say it was the one with all the Sparco graphics, which i think was affiliated with APEXi. Anyway that was the first time i'd heard a divorced external wastegate in person, and it blew my mind.
EDIT: it may very well have been this meet: http://www.socalevo.net/threads/1108...XS-ENGINEERING
Anybody still have pics? I haven't been able to find any.
Holy shit look what i found. Note the arrow. Pretty sure that's us, the RMR hood scoop thingy is the giveaway for me. And that's the side we parked on.
I guess you are one of my oldest friends lol.
Googled it. Figured if Subie guys have a SoCalSubies then Evo guys would have a SoCalEvo. lol
