Prior to cleaning any wheel, make sure that the wheel is cool. Run cool water over the wheel to wash off any light debris and cool the wheel. Cleaning a wheel when hot can cause damage to the finish and clear coat.

We highly recommend never using a wheel cleaner that contains acid. Many cleaners use acid to remove brake dust, but we advise against this as acids can harm clear coats, and will definitely harm non-coated polished wheels. If acids are used on non-coated polished wheels, it will stain the wheel with a white film. We sell a mild cleaner that works great and contains no acid and will not harm your wheels finish.

After running cool water over your wheels, spray UWT cleaner on wheel and tire. Then agitate with a soft
    bristle brush for 30-60 seconds.

    Rinse throughly after 60 seconds.

We recommend cleaning the tire thoroughly at each wash, as this will provide a better shine when applying wheel dressing. (UWT sells a tire dressing that will last a minimum of one week, up to two weeks, and provides a high gloss shine. We've tried them all; we feel this is the best).

Dry wheel and tire and apply tire dressing.

We recommend applying a good quality automotive exterior paint wax to your wheels when you wax your vehicle. Remember, the same paints that are used on your vehicles body are used on the wheels, so similar care should be given to your wheels.

For chrome wheels, some customers use steel wool pads to clean and have found this effective. Again, with chrome we recommend applying a good quality chrome polish followed by an exterior automotive wax.

For a longer protection we offer a paint sealant that can be applied to the entire exterior of your car (including wheels) that lasts one year. This means if you wash your car weekly, you do not have to apply a wax for on full year.

We recommend not using heavy abrasive or scouring pads on your wheels as this will scratch and can cause damage to your wheels finish.

We highly recommend hand washing all wheels, as this is the safest and most effective way to prevent damage and clean your vehicles wheels.

Re: For those of you that need wheel repair

Can these places work on chrome lips? I'm talking removing minor scratches and some stains on one wheel. I have a set of these Volk GTUs as pictured below.

Try out www.truwheel.com. They just repaired my Volks which are gunmetal with a chrome lip. They repainted the wheel with the original color and fixed the curb rash. Wheels look brand new again.
