Some of y’all may have noticed the lack of my presence around here for the past month or so. Others may not have noticed, nor do they care. For those of you that don’t care, there is no need to read any farther. To those of you that have noticed my absence, here is my story….
I made an agreement with Mrs. Wav that I would have a block wall w/ iron fence built to surround our home as well as have a covered patio built in the back yard. In exchange for these additions to our home, my car mod budget and track time would be limited only by the amount of extra income my web development business could generate. After starting construction on both the patio and wall, I was informed by my employer that my positionÂ* Â*would be phased out and I would be offered a nice severance package as well as a small pension. Hmmm… So as of the 1st of this month my sole income is my web development business, which is good, but I still need to find a real day job.
Now for the fun part! The contractor I paid $10,000 to in advance for the block wall and iron fencing left me high and dry. He hired day workers from home depot that did not know how to build a block wall. They damaged the sprinkler system in my front yard, broke the main city water line feeding my house and tried to put glue over the damaged pipe and them build a wall over it, leaking and all. They encroached on my neighbor’s property causing structural damage to her property. I had to pay someone to fix the damage and still need to hire a structural engineer to sign off that my neighbor’s property line is now safe. I hired someone else to build the block wall and it is now finished, however I do not have the extra funds to pay someone else to do the ironwork. I had enough money to do the whole job once, but not twice. I have retained Khiem’s service to help write a letter to the flakes that burned me, but I sure as hell can’t afford to hire a lawyer for a full-blown trial.
So I’m not starving, not selling my Evo… yet… and I have enough work with Wavmixer Web Development on my plate right now to keep us living in the style that we have become accustomed to for at least 3-4 months. Of coarse this doesn’t allow for any track time. So if anyone in the IT field knows of any openings, I’d appreciate a heads up. If y’all need any web development work, I’ll do you right.
