Nice piece.
dude i turned that sway bar upside down and bammmmmmm fixed
damn blaze you are turning the forums upside down tonight, posting all over the place lol.
i guess i have pretty much posted everywhere you have though.
My MXP rattled a bit when I would start the car and during U-turns, so Mike just wedged the pipe over with his special DP wedge tool and the rattle is gone 90 percent of the time now.Originally Posted by blkside
I really like this DP.
How does the ebay dp fit on a IX?
^^^^dude dont buy ebay parts...im sorry but theyll either prematurely crack at welds, or they wont fit right, look into a reputable company, I personally am running a dc sports cat delete downpipe. Look into ams, buschur, map performance. If your curious what would work, go onto evolutionm.net to find what your lookin for theyve got more opinions on different parts then on here.
good luck
I'M HERE FOR A GOOD TIME, NOT A LONG TIME.
had the quicktime dp on mine. only reason I went with it was for the electric cutout option. kinda nice having instant silencer when the popo rolls up.
What's the best downpipe to use with a qtp cutout on a 05 Evo?Originally Posted by XxJDaniels420xX
do you use the same exhaust gasket? If where do you get the right ones
use a gasket that is 76 or 80 mm...whatever your downpipe to cat/test pipe/hfc size are.
Buying them Depends on your location. I know roadrace sells some pretty nice thick ones. don't know anywhere else that's open at the moment. lol
I got an apexi gt spec downpipe on my IX installation took 2 min clears acd and everything..

Had the same issue with the MXP 3", not on u-turns but on small slow speed bumps also. I had Muellerized fix it up with a hammer. I'd re-adjusted it several times myself but as soon as I would tripod on my driveway it would flex it a bit and go back to hitting my sway bar. It's related to suspension height for sure, but my car isn't that low and I wasn't going to raise it. I'm not sure if a thicker aftermarket sway bar would have been better or worse due to less flex but larger diameter. In the end, a tiny dent for no rattles was worth it!
