    Transmission rebuild pricing thread

Well, x[corwin] and I were talking about transmission rebuilds the other night so I got to thinking that I should start up a post with links/prices/services. If anyone else knows of any additional reputable/reliable shops who provide the same or similar services, post up a link/price/services in the same format that I do. I'll add in the new posts to this OP.

Also, take note that these are REBUILD prices on 5 speed transmissions that dont have major damage. These are not prices for a brand new transmission. Also, these are for comparable "stage 1" rebuilds it looks like. TRE & Shep also have pricing for more aggressive rebuilds (like stage 2 & stage 3). I'm sure Buschur offers the same but it isn't listed on his site yet.

Keep in mind those are rebuild prices if something big isn't broken, and those are also 5spd prices.

My 6spd rebuild cost $1562.71 + shipping, I needed new 4th input and output gears.

Mine was a stage 2 rebuild.

Is the MR trackable now with the new 4th gear or was it just an OEM replacement?

Modified the OP to further emphasis what these prices apply to.

It was a stage 2 rebuild. No it's not trackable, the temps go through the roof still. I need to install my tranny cooler.

On a stockish car it would probably be fine on the track. Added power and grip makes heat and stress on the drivetrain.

    Re: Transmission rebuild pricing thread

I was told that shops like RRE and possibly TT have trannys in shop to swap. That would interest me greatly... I really dont feel like tearing down my car, having it down for about 2 or 3 weeks to get a tranny....

    Re: Transmission rebuild pricing thread

For a more, "Track dedicated" car I would want a longer 4th gear right fellas?

    Any other suggestions?

I need to get a rebuild, that damn 5th gear syncro- already dealer replaced, is crapping out again, only 8k after the service!?...

I know I could just take it back but I'm sick of it, Its time to build it up...

    I have 73k on my 05' 8 anyhow...
