No he said they are 30 days late on permitting. Whenever they get the permit there is another 90 days to wait on for construction.

I have some disappointing news for us IE forks. I just got off the phone with Joe, the owner of the 76 station. He informed me, as of today 11/4/08, they are 30 days late with the permit and there is no ETA with the permit. After they receive the permit it will take another 90 days for construction.
That's better than what I got out of them. Neither person spoke sufficient English to understand what E85 was, but I drove by today and no pump, no signs, no nada. Bad news, but what can you do.

While gas prices tend to go down during a re-election campaign, the real driver in recent weeks has been the collapse of crude prices. Since it takes over a month for crude to get delivered, refined, and then delivered to stations, the current price drops haven't even hit us yet. Combine that with the lowest gross fuel consumption levels in a decade and no end in sight based on an ever worsening economy and I don't think that even limiting supply is going to change the price much (Already in evidence). We may see a leveling off on the consumption drop as prices reach a point where people are comfortable paying for it again, but when people don't have jobs and none become available, they don't drive or spend much.

Don't be so partisan. The stock market had LONG factored in an Obama win. I guess you also give him credit for the market going up 250 points on friday because his economic advisors all met?? Hey, with your logic, maybe the entire credit crisis was caused by Obama because they could tell he would be President.Â* O0

BTW, as John McCain always reminded us, Obama is in the tank for the Ethanol industry, because he supports corn subsidies for Ethanol production. McCain may well have been right to criticize, but in any case, we Evo owners toying with E85 benefit for the time being on these subsidies.

Personally, I blame Barney Frank and crew for lowering lending standards for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That's what help start this whole mess.

And I'm happy to be in West LA soon because I am going to convert to E85 at some point.

There is enough blame to go around for the crisis. You listed one of them, but the Fed is the biggest one to blame. Greenspan lowered interest rates to ZERO. This made credit so cheap and financed the housing bubble. You had people who worked at Burger King getting no doc loans since credit was so cheap and lenders assumed that housing prices will keep going up.

To add to this mess, lenders sold the mortgages to investment banks and the latter bunddled them together and sold them to investors as Mortgage Backed Securities. Then AIG came in and insured these MBS with Credit Default Swaps. In essence, if Joe blow fails to pay his mortgage and the MBS fails, then AIG will cover the losses. There are $65 trillion in CDS floating around. That is why the govt. keeps pumping money into AIG. They just added another 40 billion to the 85 billion.

All this house of cards was premised on the ability of Joe blow to pay his mortgage. Once Joe blow could not pay and the housing price tumbled, the house of cards began to collapse.

This is going to get worse, much worse.

I agree, unfortunately. Blaming Barney Frank, who only gained control that house committee 22 months ago is a scapegoat, the craziness was BOOMING before that. Hey Naji, what do you hear on the possibility of the credit card industry collapsing next??

Moreover, I'm trying to get my head around The Economist Magazine and other mainstream economists assertions that despite our massive national debt, we will need to spend our way out of this looming recession...
