there always has to be someone complaining about insurance rates. this argument has been beaten to death. FOR ONCE, lets not go there. go buy a fkn 89 caprice if youre so gdamn worried about insurance.

i dont condone going that fast nor will i rag on the guy for doing that. everyone here is guilty of pushing it at least once on the roads.
...and there is always someone who doesn't understand that what you do in your car affects other people too. Â*That is, unless you're okay with RISING insurance rates; I'm not. Â*Do you remember when it was cheaper to insure an Evo compared to an STI? Â*Those days are long gone, and now it's not just the other way around, it's more expensive to insure an Evo than it is to insure an M5, GT-R, SL65 AMG or almost any other car this side of a Ferrari that your heart desires. Â*(I work in insurance and have done the quotes myself, and it's not pretty.) Â*We have idiots like the guy driving that car to thank.

Again, I'm just as guilty as anyone else of pushing my car every now and then, but clearly most of us have a lot more self restraint when it comes to how we push our cars. Â*Let's not kid ourselves and pretend like this guy was only doing 80 mph in a straight line.

The stock Evo wing is scientifically proven to be the strongest car part in the history of automobiles yet again.

Really? I work in insurance, I ran some auto quotes for myself for the '06 Evo IX I have and a GT-R, all factors equal:

    Mercury: 670 vs. 452 (6 month)
    Fidelity: 1688 vs. 1316 (12 month)
    Safeco: 1342 vs. 642 (6 month)
    CSE: 1282 vs. 1065 (6 month)
    Dairyland: 837 vs. 1870 (6 month)
    AIG: 3379 vs. 2109 (12 month)
    FIC: 2302 vs. 3360 (12 month)
    GMAC: 1161 vs. 1829 (6 month)
    Arrowhead: 2209 vs. 1035 (6 month)

    ...and so on.

Only three companies on my rating software rate the GT-R being more expensive, while all of these (and pretty much everything else on my screen) have the GT-R cheaper to insure.

^ But considering that recent accident with that 20 year-old crashing his GT-R into a wall along with the other incidents that have occurred, their rates will go up, but definitely not past ours

i havent even heard about those ...i just dont pay attention anymore. :P

my main thing about this, was the redundancy of the 'insurance rate' argument. its nothing that can be controlled so complaining sure as hell isnt going to do anything about it.

Fair enough, but it still sucks, and I think I'm still entitled to my opinion along with venting it.
