Brown box with Super Street NS97

Last week, I received a gift in a brown box from my buddy at ASPEC. I told Francis that my B-day is not until next month. He told me to just open the box and to my surprise, I saw a set of Super Street NS97 Brake pads courtesy of Endless.Â* O0 Francis, told me install them on the EVO and do a write up of my initial experience.

Today, I made a trip to Street Image and had Eric install the pads. So far so good! Installation was straight forward and the recommended bedding process was 35mph, using 70 - 80% pedal effort to slow down to about 5mph. The process was repeated about 30 times until a noticeable increase in friction was felt.

These pads are awesome! They are quiet like the stock Brembo OEM pads, little brake dust like Hawk Performance Ceramic pads & bites harder than Performance Friction PF97's. Braking response is excellent! Very low noise! From personal experience, they are the best pads I've had on the EVO VIII.

Just wanted to share my early b-day gift from Endless USA in care of ASPEC.

Not sure about pricing. I'm sure it will be competitive with other brands.

    ***update***

So far, I put on 300+ miles and the pads are holding their own. I'm no track guru, but I do enjoy occasional spirited canyon runs. The NS97's were excellent going up & down GMR. If time & scheduling permits, next run will probably be the Las Vegas Mountains next month.

From my understanding, the NS97 compound was developed to be the best all-around street pad with extremely low dust, extremely low noise and extremely low wear, reducing pad/rotor consumption.

The NS97 is kind of pricey for a street pad. They are $198 for the front or rear set. But they're supposed to perform better, be more "livable" and last 2 ~ 3 times longer than other comparable pads.

Even though you pay more up front, you actually save $$$ on both pad and rotor consumption in the long run.
