Typically around 80HP over 91 octane. Fuel mileage is about 30% worse than 91.

Yea I went to go do a e85 tune and found out that I need upgraded slinky fuel line because the factory one will break down in the e85. It is easy to find a fuel line that can run e85 fuel through the inside of the line but the hard part is to find a line that can be submerged in e85 because most e85 compatible fuel lines cant be submerged without being broken down externally. The evo 8 and 9 stock fuel lines are e85 compatible, but they are to short to use in the evo x since the two pumps are designed differently.
I also discovered that I would need to get a stock evo 9 fuel sock since the stock fuel sock for the evo x’s are not e85 compatible. I guess the stock x fuel sock or filter is cotton based and when running e85 the cotton will break down and get stuck in the fuel pump and also make its way to the injectors.

Usually, for the Evo X Fuel pump kit.... they come with a line. I'm personally using a Cobb Walbro Kit... it included everything that you need for E85. However, for the sock filter I'm using an Evo 9 one. I was luck enough to also find a lancer Sock at the Junkyard once.

When in doubt you can spend the extra money and buy the Blaq Ops Walbro Kit which includes everything....

See I bought the deatchworks dw65c fuel pump it’s advertised as just plug and play so I had the impression that’s all I will need. The only thing it came with is the pump and two o rings. I was looking for a fuel pump that would fit the stock housing. I wanted the wallbro 255 but I was told I would have to buy the whole fuel pump housing. I saw that ultimate racing makes a fuel pump that fits the wallbro 255, but I notice that the fuel lines on that pump look the same as those on the stock fuel pump housing so you still cant run e85.

Re: ATTN Evo 10 E85 users!

I got rid of my dw65 and got a walbro 255lph fuel pump because it comes with the proper fuel lines and fuel sock. The problem with the dw65 is that they do not make a after market fuel sock that fits that pump, even the stock 9 sock wont fit that pump(evo 9 and evo x pumps are completely different). We called deatchworks and they said the stock x sock is fine on e85, but if you keep reading the forms they are several complaints on how the cotton brakes down on the stock x fuel sock then get stuck in the pump. Choice is up to you.

So the whole purpose of e85 is for more power or save gas mileage?

Well realistically its to be greener for the planet less smog and ya know....

But people discovered that on E85, you can run some crazy Timing to increase power over the standard pump gas i.e 91 Pump. If you are going to run E85 as a gas saver..... good luck.

If your running it for the benefit of increased power then your on the right track.

I was thinking about converting over to e85, but I know I will go through it quick. With gains I will get it will have me speeding like a mad man.

I used dW 65c pump with no issues on e85. I modified housing to except Walbro sock filter.

Nothing has changed in the fuel pump assemblies over the years.

Just because the hose turns yellow doesn't mean it failed, I've ran E85 on all my Evo X's over the last 5 years with no issues. You can also run the stock fuel pump up to 400whp. It flows 240lph.
