Transmission or clutch probs =((((

ok so as of the last two days out of no where the transmission has been acting funny
mind u when i drive normal it has no probs only when i haul ass and shift past redline does it run into probs
what will happen is ill gun it in first and when i try to shift it into second its alot alot !! harder to put in gear it almost locks me out and sometime if i try and force it too much it will grind its doing the samething for 3rd and fouth gear not sure about 5th or 6th havent had the chance to check idk if maybe i need to adjust my clutch pedal or maybe i need to change the oil in my tranny or what but its really frustrating because i have to wait liek a second or two till it drops into gear

i have a Evo IX MR with a Twin Plate Carbonetic Clutch 306 AWHp/296tq on 91 415/404TQ on E85

anyone ever had the same probs ?
whats the solution ?
any advice anyone has would be a great help

i had this problem recently. i just adjust my clutch pedal to engage higher, the problem seem to be less but after changing my fluid it seem to go away. hope your problem is the same as mine.

I'm pretty sure I know how to do It but idk the Evo is always diff from other cars anyhing fancy ? Or tricky u gotta do ?

Ummm.... charlie.... that's a pic of the 5 speed... just sayin... The 6 speed uses a 10mm hex key for the bolts...

And if you do a search for "how to change all driveline fluids" it comes right up.

I use all the redline fluids. Just call up RRE and it's usually like $10 to ship and it comes in 1 or 2 days.

Just do that and adjust the pedal a little, you will be fine!

i been using mobil 1 75w90 but switch to Castrol SynTorq 75W-85 full synthetic from this guy:

btw, i have a evo 9 MR tranny on my evo 8 gsr. the fluid really make a different on shifting.

but yeh there no special trick in replacing your fluid, similiar to 5 speed but the fill bolts(i think) use a 10 mm hex key. you will need a pump to get the fluid into the fill hole. the MR tranny take around 2.5-2.6. once you see fluid coming out, put your finger in to see if it has level. Make sure you do this when your evo is level evenly. put the bolt back on. take it for a drive and check fluid level again.

You can get good little pumps at Kragen for $20. That's where I got mine. Friggn awesome and worth the money not to have to deal with trying to use the long funnel with the flexible end on it, lol.

**UPDATE** 10/18/09 ok so I adjusted the clutch pedal the push rod is about at 90%of the length it can go b4 I adjusted it it was at about 80% so it deff improved the problem but.... It still does it sometimes only when I'm shifting at 7500k
I think I'm gonna try adjusting the clutch pedal some more tommarow maybe shorten the rod to about 70% see if that completly fixes the prob
if not I'll have to wait till I change the tranny oil and hope that fixes it
where can I get this 10mm hex wrench ? So I can change the fluid
and I already have a pump I just need to buy a hose
