Hey guys Im running a 265DW fuel pump on my X, I'm gonna be makin the jump to E85,( tired of it being a close race with 5.0's) and my question is do I need to upgrade the hoses in the tank or hardline the pump or can I run the car as is and make the jump to E85?? Thanks for any smart input

You'll probably need to replace the hoses inside the tank. I've never heard of anyone needing to replace any other hoses.

I did this and he stated they ran with the stock lines no problem. The like to the thread showing a bronze/brown line, that line isn't the oem line. I know because I just swaped pumps to the 265 pump. The stock lines are both black

^Some of the early X's came with the other lines. The newer models are all black.

This car was pretty much on e85 all its life. Try converting a car that has used gasoline for quite some time. You will get varying results. I have had my fuel lines deteriorate and then debris getting clogged up in my fuel injectors. I would say the best thing to do to convert is make your fuel system ethanol proof. Ethanol fuel companies utilize teflon lines in their manufacturing process after talking to propel and Pearson I decided to pull the trigger on ss teflon lines and ever since then I have yet to have any issues. Also I recommend oil change intervals increasing since ethanol breaks down oil a bit quicker than regular gasoline. I also recommend a catch can as well to help trap all the debris and contaminants that ethanol will break down in your engine as well as any excess moisture.

Of course these are the things I have come across on a ct9a.

I have seen different results with different cars. All have varying aspects as far as where they live, summer and winter blends, some states carry e70/85/98 etc etc, different cars have different amounts of exposure to each fuel type. So it is difficult to say that people will have the exact same issues at the same times.
