    P0403

So i was driving home this weekend car started to idle funny and the ses light came onÂ* next time i started it. I reset the code by unplugging the negative battery terminal to see if it came back. Car drove fine and idled fine until the next day. Then idle became ba again and ses light came on. Pulled the code this morning to find it was an P0403 error code. So my question is do i most likely have to replace my egr solenoid?Â* Even if it is that went bad am i wrong to assume it should be covered under warranty even with mods?Â* Any suggestions?

    Re: P0403

Usually it is a hose that goes from the intake manifold down to the EGR valve that has come loose. Fish around behind and below the throttle body area for a loose vacuum hose. Put a zip tie on it :-)

Thanks mike i was looking for that because that was the problem when i got the p0401 code on my old evo, But i havnt found anything loose yet. And p0403 read as a flow circuit malfunction so was thinking it might be the harness or solenoid. I will check again later when i get home though to see if i can see anything.

Then next suspect in line is the MDP sensor on the intake manifold. There is a little hole in the manifold under the sensor that can get plugged up with junk. It is that sensor that helps the ECU figger out if the EGR openes and closes by sensing differences in the manifold pressure.

    Re: P0403

now this should help you out...

you need to make sure that the hoses marked #2 are connected. Â*most of the time these pop off and you have to reach back there and put it back on. (shit.. i may need to check mine... just ot make sure its all on...)

    Re: P0403

Thanks gsrix Yeah like i said ive fixed my p0401 code by checking the same vac hoses. Rigo said my egr is sticking and staying open, and that is what is causing the rough idle. Well that is more or less what i thought from reading about it. So they are ordering a new solenoid and i have to come back. Thanks for the help hopefully the new solonoid fixes everything.
