Beat the CA tax For Online Purchase For Car Parts?www.outperformanceshop.com

I just want to share this with you guys since this site saved me lots of money in the past.

I first interacted with Dan (owner of www.outperformanceshop.com) when I upgraded my wife's brakes on her XB.

I was looking at froogle.com 3 years ago. He was the lowest price in froogle as well as I don't pay tax since he is in Texas. When I upgraded my brakes on my Evo, I told him I did the same process at froogle.com and told him that I want to check with him first if there is any deals. He gave me a very comparable price from the compeditor!!!

I need new pads for the wife's car again and without a miss gave me the best price out there.

Dan is a great guy and will let you know if there is a delay on the parts and always responds to email and calls. If you are not in a rush for the parts and want to save money, touch base with him first.Â* Â*

    Thank you for the comment.

I do hope you have good contacts on vendors as well as you meet buy-in requirement to get the discounted prices.

This was not a post to get good price fraudulently, but a referral to get great parts at a good price.

Well it is not fraud when I'm in the automotive business and order parts for several cars that I wholesale. And even if you buy out of state your technically still responsible for the taxes. Do you report all your out of state parts purchases on your tax return. It is called use tax and it sounds like you might be breaking the law. I run a legitimate business. So watch who you accuse of fraud.

So at this point a regular joe would not be recommended to get a seller permit then?

As you put it, you are in the automotive business. You should know better to get a sellers permit.

As far as I know when I buy stuff from Amazon.com or any online retailer that is outside the state, I dont pay tax.

I'm not not looking for a newb to post on this thread to get a seller permit to get a good price because when you get parts as automotive business, you declare that you are selling the part and the end user will pay the tax.

Please do not clutter my post.

    Thank you.

I was not recommending anybody do that I was just speaking for myself, and it is pretty widely know that buying out state online the seller does not charge tax so who is the real Newb here. It sounds more like someone trying to plug a business than actual valuable information for the forum.

Buddy get your post count elsewhere.

How many online shops out of state would you recommend?

If you were speaking for yourself, keep it to your self if no one else can benefit from it. not unless you are planning to hook SCE members up?

I just realized I might be too harsh to say the "fraudulently" part.

    That I would apologize for.

I posted this thread to give other members another option to look around for parts online, since most of the popular vendors are in California.

I should not judge you since I don't even know you and you have not really posted anything about you or your shop.

This thread was for a recommendation, I would say what you posted would not be viable for other members though.

Sorry for starting at with the wrong foot.

You can also give them a call or send them an email.

That's what I usually do and they usually give me a very good price for parts, even for parts not listed.
