Sorry to necro this thread but um I drove and worked on the car you own for a while late last year. It wasn't my car.
Not sure if it's too late to share this but whatever...
To determine if the car you own is the same car I'm talking about; did you have issues with sliding the drivers seat back and forth?
EDIT: I'm almost positive this is the same car I'm talking about. It's a MR SE but missing the SE front lip and has regular IX Enkei's instead of BBS.
The reason it was put in copart is exactly why you've had such a big ass headache dealing with it.
Bad news:
ABS sensor/hub is damaged on one of the corners causing the ABS to constantly engage at low speeds. Turbo came out of an VIII. The suspension you have on it now is not from an MR but a regular IX, same with the wheels - regular IX Enkei's the BBS were damaged. And yes I believe the damaged honeycomb on the airbox inlet was causing the car to idle and die momentarily but not sure. All I know is I shared with the guy everything I could to help him fix it, I looked over the car thoroughly when I had the chance.
Good news:
It's a very rare MR SE in TB. It's low mileage, other than having the wrong turbo/wastegate the motor sounded/drove perfect to me. Extent of the damage causing it to have a salvage title was pretty minor like most Evo's in the auction.
So um yeah.

sorry for the revive but its finally fixed =) ecu was damaged so swaped it out tps was damaged to. so its all good did it all by me O0.
