Car wont start!

Alright... I did a search, and didn't find anything that would help me, with the exception of Massimo PowerÂ* :roll:Â* Anyway, I drove my car into work this morning without any problem.Â* The car started just fine, and drove without a problem.Â* Tonight, when I was leaving for work, my car would turn over strong, but not start.Â* I checked all of my fuses, under the hood and in the cabin, and all were in good condition.Â*

I am thinking I may have a fuel issue.Â* My car has the original fuel pump in it (87K miles)... Could it have gone bad?Â* Would this prevent my car from starting?Â* Please help... Stuck at work.

Do you hear your fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition in the on position?

check fuel and spark. Do you have a check engine light? Any maintenance history behind your car?

My car has received regular service from the dealership. I have never heard my fuel pump "Prime" And as for the maintenance light... all my lights on the dash are on.

First Check your Plugs to see if your getting spark... 2nd Its hard to tell when the fuel pump primes cause I never heard mine at all and my car is gutted.

If you have spark and all your fuses are fine then it could be possible that the pump took a crap. Is there any SES/CEL on? Good Luck... if you know someone else with an Evo... have them swap pumps and see if the car starts up as normal.

Turn key to on position. Listen for a hum. If you hear a hum fuel pump is working. (maybe my pump was louder than usual but i could hear mine prime on me 8. oh well.)

Another way to see if your getting fuel is crank the car 5 seconds(because your cars not starting). Pull spark plugs out. If it looks wet/smells like gas, you're getting fuel.

the walbro's are loud and you can hear them, i think its your Fuel pump. not sure though but that would be the first thing i woud try.

Hey bro, I had the same issues, and it turned out my fuel pump took a crap. Take your back seat cushion out it should help you to hear if your pump is priming, or have someone listen for you.

I had a Walbro in, it died ran the OEM for awhile again, and then got a new Walbro put in.

If you do need to replace the pump, might as well get Â*Walbro since they're only about $100ish. I'm assuming OEM pump cost more anyways...

Okay, so I went to LB Mitsubishi to inquire about a fuel pump... Ummm $450 was a bit too much for my taste, plus I had to wait for it. So I called Kragen.Â* Kragen was $250, and they too had to order one. Hmmmm... What to do, what to do.Â* I called RRE and asked about the Walbro fuel pump.Â* I was told $90, and they were in stock. AMEN!Â* Picked up the fuel pump and installed it.Â* Whala! Vroom psssh..Vroom psssh! Back on the road.Â* Thanks everyone for your help... Now I need to take care of that timing belt before I get a serious problem..

OH the Real Though.. I dont hear it Prime... But my shit fires up no problem once the car starts to START.... i hear it prime pretty damn loud.
