At least on the track everyone is going the same direction, access is controlled and there is little to hit.

Going to the track does not have to be any harder on the car or driver than going through Ortega Hwy, Stunt Rd or Angeles Crest. And actually it should be a lot safer for everyone since there are no animals or bikes or police to deal with. It is up to you to kill your brakes and tires on the track or the street. Same goes for your butt.

Everyone's frst track day should be at Streets of Willow. It is pretty hard to hurt your car there. Anyone that can somehow roll their car off turn 1 @ Streets or somehow hit the pit will there would be the same guy with a pic of his car rolled and all looted and abandoned up on GMR. They should be checking more for HANS devices and cages on GMR than anywhere else

Enough said. Rest my case. Don't heed the warnings on safety, this might happen.

Ed Nazarian sent me this. Crazy shit. When people get to this level of racing, safety is a must but I have to say, I pushed my car as far as it could go on the rubber I have and I went off 2.5 times as a result, one time really hard and all I got was dirty...really really dirty. I am not saying it is impossible to catch on fire, flip and burn to death, anything is possible but in HPDE1 and 2 it I would bet my EVO against it happening, whereas at GMR I wouldn't even bet $50 on it...

BTW Zhong, the undertray probably saved my intercooler and other underbits when I went of 1.5 of the 2.5 times, so THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Which saftey warnings didnt Tage heed? I saw that thread earlier but dont understand (or missed) how the inside of the car caught on fire driving straight down the racetrack. There is a reason the firewall is called a firewall. Supposed to keep the fire on the other side of the wall and shit

Tage didnt miss any safety warnings or safety equipment and/or wasn't NOT prepared. Â*Im just saying imagine going to a HPDE, Open track, TT, Time Attack, Race, Wheel to Wheel WITHOUT running any safety stuff. Â* Imagine how much WORSE it can be.

I guess i should rephrase to ---> This is BEST case scenario if you heed all warnings. Â*Don't attend a track day without proper safety gear. Â*It might save your life.
"Remember, fire burns just as hot on a test day as it does on a race day, so wear all your gear."

Mike, lol at the firewall comment. I know right, FIRE-WALL. I wondered that too.

Yep, Ed sent that link to me too. Haha don't mention it. Glad I could help. Looks like you had a blast that day. Hope to see you out at the track again soon. Thank Mike and RRE for installing it for you before the track day. :)

If you have the room, bring a small/medium sized icebox to your next event with your water in it.Â* Stop by a gas station near the track, buy some ice, and pack it around your water.Â* Do the same for the 2nd day...buy water and ice before you hit the track and pack it in there.Â* And make an effort to stay out of the sun.Â* You will meet a lot of people, and if youre not careful youll end up standing around talking with everyone while the sun bakes you all day.Â*

Glad you made it out and parked with us.Â* Unfortunately, as you saw, were typically busy on race weekends.Â* Sometimes more, sometimes less.Â* Hopefully next time we will have a little bit more time to chit chat.Â*

Re: EVO Specific Track Day Check List [for obsessive peoples].

The Tage dealio was pointed to us as need to heed a warning. I was thinking the Tage guy didnt heed a warning since the _inside_ of his car caught on fire. Do we know what caused that interior fire?

I feel a poll coming on... After hearing this happen on the internets, would you

    a) Spend more time shopping for and putting on balaclavas

    b) Spend more time looking for loose fuel lines and closing giant gaping holes in your firewall and looking for tany possible root cause of and potential CONFLAGRATION/self imolation.

    c) Walk around all day with your shirt pulled up over your head repeating "Balaclava" "Nicaragaua" "Lake Titicaca" "Balaclava"....

    Key:

    a only -2 points

    b only 20 points

    c only -1 point

    b anc c 100 points

    a, b and c 103 points

    a and c 10 points

Mike, OMG...bwahahahahahah you had me rolling on floor laughing for a good 30s....Thats some funny ass shit.Â* Bongholio...need tee-pee for my bung hole.Â* I miss Beavis and Butthead. lol.

Oops, sorry Mike I stand corrected, he did one mistake of not wearing a Balaclava Nicaragua. But more seriously he should have checked all over engine bay and hoses for leaks and/or holes and/or loose fittings on fuel lines etc so the fire shouldn't of happened in first place. Then again, shit happens on track and it could of worked itself loose. I used to be C, but now im A and B.
