OEM is best but here an alternative to the OEM fluid:

Oil Filter
http://www.sspperformance.com/produc...ilter---evo-x/
It ends up being a $600-$650 jobÂ*with fluid, filter and laborÂ* :/

Change is just drain the fluid, change the filter and put in new fluid.
Flush is drain it, put new fluid in, run it for a while in all the gears, drain it, change the filter and put new fluid in again.
One way is less fluid and less work. The other way uses twice as much fluid and is more work. Originally in the 2008 manual MMSA recommended a flush. Now after 2010 they recommend just a change.
Sure you want a flush?
2muchboost... any other parts he could get not from RRE you would like to recommend in the RRE forum of So Cal EVO?

hey Mike, do you guys still recomend/use the oem fluid? or is there something better out there?
Not really better in quality, but a little cheaper in price is available compared to stock. Some of the cool kids use Pentosin FFL-2 or something. You buy it off Amazon and bring it in your self. Internet says it is the same stuff as stock. And then the super new cool kids started using Ravenol. And then SSP felt the heat and lower the price on their magic gold stuff that was probably one of the ones that people were jumping on that was being repackaged...

Either way more frequent cheap fluid changing is probably a better strategy than less changes with expensive stuff.
