UPDATE: After testing the forum upgrade extensively, we have decided to postpone the migration while we work to investigate some usability issues that are created by the conversion to vBulletin. We want the experience to be as seamless as possible and we are not comfortable with the allowing the migration to take place knowing this won't be the case. I'm sorry to have to announce this but in the end I know it's the right thing to do. In the mean time we are adding new staff members and hope to contact everyone in the coming weeks.
SCE members, we have some great news! We will be upgrading SoCalEvo.net to vBulletin software on TBD. Before we get started, we need your help to prepare for the move. The vBulletin upgrade will be fairly painless with one exception - your password will not be migrated.
Your SCE account e-mail address must be valid and you need to*make sure you can receive site e-mails. Once the upgrade is complete, you’ll be required to do a password reset to create a new password under the vBulletin software. If your e-mail is not current, you won’t get the password reset email and recovering your account will require admin help.
Please take the following steps to make sure you’re prepared for the upgrade:
- Update your e-mail address by visiting your profile page and clicking “Account Related Settings” on the left side. Verify your e-mail address is correct or update and save if required.
* *- Add [email protected] to your e-mail address book to ensure site e-mails from vBulletin aren’t marked as spam.
* *- Save any photos you’d like from the gallery as they will not be migrated to vBulletin’s built-in gallery system. We will archive the old SCE gallery to preserve the years-worth of accumulated images.
* *- Once migrated to vbulletin, there will be a 1000 PM limit. Older SCE members may need to clean up their PMs before being able to send and receive new PMs.
