Clutch job just in time for Round 4

I wanted to formally thank Mike and the RRE team for doing a clutch job, as well as installing a set of ARP extended wheel studs for the front to cover my new wheel and tire set up.Â* The notice was short, and you guys made it happen!Â* Unfortunately, my ACT Street clutch was starting to slip slightly after making a few changes in the power department.Â* Â*

I will be at Round 4 of the ExtremeSpeed AWD Competition Series this coming Saturday - 6-2-2012 at Buttonwillow Raceway Park,Â* and I did not want to risk my clutch assembly taking a dive, nor have put a hamper on my lap times.

I dropped my car off this past Thursday night, and was able to pick it up on Saturday, even when it's memorial day weekend!Â* You guys continue to impress me with your level of commitment!

For the drive train, RRE installed Competition Stage 2 clutch and Light Weight Flywheel. And for lubrication protection for on track duties, they filled up the transmission with Redline MT85, and proceeded to fill the ACD with Redline Shock Proof Heavy.Â* For the front wheel hub assembly, they pressed in ARP extended wheel studs in order to cover my 20mm spacer that I have to run in order to clear the front brake caliper when running RPF-1's.Â*

Thank you guys so much for helping me out!Â* O0

See you at the track this Saturday!Â* :D

The thick goopy additive stuff in Shockproof centrifuges out and clogs up little passageways that oil important stuff in a Mitsubishi transmission. The cool kids dont use Shockproof in Mitsubishi transmissions.

I've never put Shock Proof in my transmission, only in my transfer case. I've only used Redline and Motul gear oil in my transmission. She still shifts like a champ!

I also read here on So Cal EVO that it is ok to run all the torque you want on a 6 speed tranny. If one person can do something, anyone can do something. Rock it!

    http://teamrip.com/manual_transmissi...tion_info.html

    REDLINE SHOCKPROOF
There are concerns about using REDLINE SHOCKPROOF type gear oils inside manual transmissions. While this is truly an excellent product, it has been found that the heavy Teflon-like particles are quickly centrifuged out of the oil and will build up inside the center diff housing and around the synchronizers and inside of the gearshafts. After several oil changes this build up may block oiling passages inside the gearshafts that lubricate the needle bearings and can reduce the overall effectiveness of the synchronizers, leading to poor shift quality. Also this oil is has too high of a viscosity for winter use. Therefore we do not suggest using SHOCKPROOF in the transmission unless the transmission is to be serviced often or a dog box.

Word on the street is that you can run 30 psi on 91 octane no problem.Â* I have been doing it for 100k so I guess I am lucky .
