    Thanks to RRE for making my dreams come to a halt

    Track Brakes installed (C6 Z06 6-pot calipers; that's right 666 :twisted:)

    Finally got it all installed.

    There is a modification that needs to be done:

    The reason why that has to be ground flat:

    If it wasn't ground down, the top edge of the pad would hang off the rotor, which would cause a rut in the pad as it got worn down. It's not alot, about 1/8" to 3/16", but enough that has to be done.
    Thanks to Road Race for helping me get this done. The nose does feel heavier through the steering wheel, but I also increased my front sway bar to full hard (26mm). It's actually nice, the wheel feels a bit heavier, but very precise (almost like a smaller input will have a larger reaction). I can't wait to take her to BRP next weekend {thumbup}
    Bedding in is.....wow. I did a pretty heavy bed the first night, 2 more the following day, and it still squeals/grinds. This is a whole lot more pad and rotor, so I guess it needs a whole lot more bedding (I'm using Cobalt XR2's) Cold bite is amazing considering how much heat it takes to actually wake the pads up. All I need is "pssssh" when stopping (air brakes, not turbo, phonetically the same, ha!) and I can be the local short bus driver from hellÂ* :twisted:

    Who's idea was it to even try z06 calipers in the first place?

    Looks great! Can't believe this is even possible. Some questions though. How does this affect ABS? How does it affect braking bias front to rear? If I read it correctly, would you have to modify the pads every time you need to buy a new set? Or was the modification done on the caliper to prevent the top edge of pad to be ground down.

    Re: Thanks to RRE for making my dreams come to a halt

    The modification was done to the caliper (allowing it to sit flush) so that the pad sits evenly on the rotor,
    This guy NFSLancer on EvoM did the project a year ago, but only made 15 or 20 brackets (hot commodity). A friend of mine had an extra set in his garage he forgot about, and dug them up 6 months later.
    He was researching and discovered the BMC and the F/R bias are almost identical between the Corvette and Lancer (as well as the specs for the caliper itself, like hub, offset, etc). But of course, this is pretty serious compared with the retarded rear brakes (I almost positive I did an accidental "standy" while bedding).
    I did 3 HARD beddings and only got the ABS to engage once (pretty good tires too, these 595-SS).
    Oh almost forgot, what's not in the pic is the bracket to make this work (not direct bolt-on; if you look at the last pic you can see the profile view of the bracket/spacer/caliper). For any RA owners who are interested contact Mike W as he took measurements/specs of the bracket and spacer for a future projectÂ* O0

    You would have to create your own bracket.
    The whole point of this project was that none of the Evo brakes/kits will work with the RA (different knuckles, bolt holes, etc.)

    You might not always get a straight answer on price inquires, as some of the guys I knew on the LB crew, bartered for work done - some liked it in the b*tt and this cut the prices down considerably....
