I am going to keep this short and sweet. Please keep the drama out of this thread. I have tested and logged more intakes on the Evo X than I could count. The best ones, ie, the ones that do NOT drift your fuel trims and mess up your AFR are as follows:
1. Bardabe intake, designed by Juan Vargas and tested by me. Comes with an UICP. We tested the fruck out of this intake and made sure that the trims stay within a narrow +/-5% band. You can simply put this intake on the car and drive. No CEL, no drama, no widely swinging AFR. And yes changing fuel trims feed in to the AFR. Badly set trims affect your gas mileage.
2. Injen intake, came before the Bardabe intake and was almost the only one available that does not drift your trims. Comes with an UICP and a heatshield. The trims are steady at +7%. Tested multiple times by me. It is PnP. No fuss, no muss.
3. K&N Typhoon Intake. The latest one that I tested for MotoIQ. Very well designed with an UICP and a heatshield. Keeps the trims at +7%. Just install and drive.
All the other intakes that I have tested mess the fuel trims and hence your mileage and your AFR. They require MAF/Latency tuning to get them right. These are the ONLY intakes I recommend for the Evo X. I will kiss your feet when you bring your car to me with one of these intakesÂ*
