    My New Daily Driver

I just picked up a 2013 Mustang GT to replace my Mazda Speed3 as my DD. It's got 3.73 gears and the Brembo Brake/19 inch Wheel Package as the only options. What do you guys think?

It feels big and heavy compared to the Evo, but I love the sound of the 420HP V8...

I thought they still handled reasonably well??

it pulls .94G's on the skid pad. It sticks very well but the feeling is very uncontrolled with a lot of body roll. The Evo handles much better.

    Re: My New Daily Driver

My buddy, also on this forum, just picked up a Crustang just like yours. Only difference would be the Recaro Seat Package. Great cars! I have personally pulled 28mpg at 70mph out of the 6 speed 5.0 Coyote engine. And have also used it at Streets of Willow where I gunned down several Evos with it. =] The Evo out of the box does handle a little better but not by much in clean dry situations. Thing is this 5.0 will outmuscle any stock Evo with little problem.

To the OP: The feelings/impressions that you're describing about the car are normal for a big heavy RWD V8 car. But it isn't all that heavy, a X is about the same weight. Also, the solid rear axle always has that uneasy feeling. It doesn't mean that it's uncontrollable or doesn't handle well. Just feels that way. You have to train yourself to ignore the feeling and push harder. The solid axle cars steer great with the throttle.

To greatly improve on that uneasy feeling install an aftermarket Pan Hard Bar. It does wonders for the feeling of control when pushing the car. I can explain more if you want to know more. You know, if these kinds of cars are new to you.

Note: Evo X front Brake pad is the same for the Crustang with Track Pack.=]

    Re: My New Daily Driver

I totally agree with all that you say. My only point is that the car has a very heavy feel to it with a lot of body roll compared to the evo..

    Re: My New Daily Driver

I have the same car ... Hubby traded the Outlander in for this for me.Â* (Nice surprise for me!)Â*

DI Blue ...I have the Track Package on mine...so Recaros, 3.73 Torsen Diff, Upgraded Cooling (Radiator and Oil) and Brembos.Â*

I love this car! Evo it is not! ...But it is quite the capable car....The adjustable steering input is great. The engine...well what can be said but great things! It sounds wonderful...revs happily to 6800 rpm...smash on the throttle and it hits 100+ mph in secondsÂ* :twisted:Â* I always drive with the steering in sport mode ...it feels more connected to the road this way.
I was always kinda meh over Crustangs...until I drove a new one... done deal... Ford has come a long way! I was very impressed. It's my DD and will make it's first track appearance once I can make the time to get over to RRE for SS lines, pads and some Redline in the drivetrain.Â*

I average about 16-18mpgs on street and have gotten 26mpgs on the FWY on longer trips.
