I drove on my St43s to work today. If you give very minimal brake input they aren't that loud. It's when you mash on the brakes when your brakes are super cold is when they really start to howl.

anyone else on these boards have personal jacks transmission rebuild experience?
I am getting ready to send my gb/diff into either tre or jacks.
theres a guy on evom that put a bad review but no one is perfect
really? I didn't see it when I researched them... Regardless, I will post an update after a track day or two...Originally Posted by silverevo05
I've had a jacks transmission on my car for about two years now and still shifts like butter. I dyno'ed 421 on 91 and am now on e85 with tons more power and its still as happy as can be... Not my daily driver though.
Looks like Jack's will be my choice for a tran over shep, thanks for the info..
I will post an update after the first round of the AWD Challenge on the 20th.
I did a mellow day at SOW. I stuck in intermediate and did not try to push the car too hard. All the track dudes that talk about tracking cars all the time 24/7 talk about going 5/10ths or 10/10ths or whatever. I have no idea what the hell that means. Basically, I just did not push the car super hard all day but I ran it hard enough to have a bunch of fun and run back to back 1:29s. I will post more and update the OP after BRP this month!!Originally Posted by jamesinger

Once I am used to the added HP and suspension, I will ramp up the flatoutness but I didn't want to be like you at Big Willow the first time we hung out. I watch guys like you and learn what not to do!! HA!Originally Posted by o-townFLA

I go flat out taking out the trash too, haha.Originally Posted by o-townFLA
if you spend some time on their site and watch some of their youtube videos, you will see that they know what is what. Also, dealing with Jack directly is a really nice touch.Originally Posted by amaev05
Too bad there is no love for the 6 speed transmission. I think it shifts much better than the 5 speed, strength issue aside.
I WILL BUY YOUR EVO FOR CASH!!! SEND ME A PM FOR A QUICK AND EASY SALE. CLEAN TITLE ONLY. ISSUES WITH PAINT, BODY, AND MECHANICAL ARE WELCOME.
They do have stuff to buff it up yourself and to rebuild parts but the average guy is not going to do that. Most people, if they are at a HP level that breaks a 6 speed trans. are going to switch to a 5 speed. However, I do agree that a 6 speed would be preferable but only if it was as stout as the 5 speed.Originally Posted by EVO-LOVER-369
