    If you if you start to slide maintain throttle and "point and shoot".Â* Always look at where you want to go. Don't look at the steering wheel, and god forbid dont look at the wall if you are sliding toward a wall.Â* Â*It also depends on the slide. You can actually be off throttle and just counter steer and the car will find traction, just as long as your still in gear.Â* Â*

    Azian has been in my car when I slide on purpose.Â* He told me "you have obviously done this before". LOL

    Just countersteer.Â* Don't over correct.Â* When you stop sliding, make sure your steering wheel is pointed straight.Â* Some people slide because they are braking hard and turning at same time...aka off throttle like when you go too fast into a turn and brake way too late while turning.Â* Some people slide when they get on throttle too early/too much and oversteer if car is set up that way.Â* Some people oversteer because they shifted too much weight side to side and the weight shift initiates the slide.Â* Some people oversteer because they upset the car during a turn...via lifting, bad down shift, clutch kicking.Â* Some people also oversteer/spin when they turn/brake on a painted line on the road or any low traction surface aka when raining (1 side of the tires).Â* When the left side tires have different traction surface than the right side. Another way is by over cooking a turn, you put 2 tires off the road and if you still have steering angle, it will shoot you across the road.Â* If you see yourself going off, straighten the wheel and go straight off.Â* Obviously if there is a wall/barrier, don't do that -_-, but if there is run off area then straighten wheel before going off.

    So stop doing the above listed things and it won't happen.

    Look where you want to go, hands will follow.Â* Don't overcorrect, just steer where you want to go and not where you are going.Â* Make sure you return wheel to center when car stops sliding.Â* Don't hand over hand when you correct or you will lose track where center is.

    If you can't save it, beyond saving, just 2 feet in (clutch and brake).Â* Your spin will be more predictable for people behind you.

    I never heard of anyone downshifting mid spin to correct it. -_-

    downshifting mid spin is the same as lifting,as soon as you dip that clutch you have no power

    Hear and see what they do. Pretty much sums up all my points. These 2 are very very excellent drivers. I wish I had their high level of car control and able to do it corner after corner after corner, lap after lap with precision.

    Just counter steer, DO NOT lift the gas. Holding the gas is very important.

    Just reading some book or watching video won't give you any help. Without practice, you cannot hold the gas even if you could do counter steer. Practice, practice and practice.
    Auto-X or Rally-X will help you to increase your driving skill without risk.

    It's possible without AYC. Your foot will be one instead of AYC. Practice, practice and practice.

    ^^^it's not that. I just hate the fact auto makers have to change certain things to comply with individual country standards/regulations instead of having everything the same across the board

    how have you learned?? is it all track experience or have you taken some sort of driving programs??

    I started RallyX at first, then did Stage Rally --> AutoX --> Track.
    Starting from RallyX/AutoX is very good way for learning driving with lower risk. Also, learning by good instructor who has good experiance is important. He can take you to the correct direction.

    In my case, learn by instructorÂ* --> Try by yourself ---> AskÂ* --> Try by yourself --> Ask ...... I just continued this way.

    ^ This ... If you lift- you'll instantly get Lift Off Over Steer and will violently catch traction and spin ... Most people will tell you to "lift until you get traction" - RWD? Maybe? But definitely stay on the gas and point where you want to go ...

    Loss of control should turn into gaining control - the sensation of learning to do this the first couple of times and trying to train yourself sure is un-natural but after you induce it a few times (a hell of a lot easier in an X LOL) - you should get the hang of it!

    LOL great I hit post after finding out there are 50 other dont lift and point where you want to go responses :B
