What type of Tune should I get???

Hey SoCal peeps, I'm looking to tune my Evo X, but not sure which route to go with, tuning wise. I'm shooting for 350awhp with tq about the same. Have full 3" turbo back K&N intake/uicp. Just need injectors and fuel pump and some type of electronic boost controller. I've heard about different tuning options eg. Cobb AP, tuning the stock ecu, what would be my best bet? Sorry about the noob questions, but your advise and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't worry about the fuel pump and injectors for that goal of 350whp. I hit that and dont have those.

So should I just have it tuned as is? I called RRE, but no answer so I left them a VM.

350 on a dynojet maybe, my car back when it was stock only made 300whp and about equal torque on 22 or 24lbs of boost on 91 with fmic, piping, intake, exhaust, and 3 port solenoid. This was on a mustang.

Definitely get the ecu tuned by a reputable tuning shop.

    Nice.

I should just wait until I get a 3port and fmic.

Have them tune it as is, they will probably want to upgrade the boost controller, go ahead and do that and good luck! Seems like you have the good starting mods if your really looking to make significantly more power your next step is cams or an ethanol tune which you will need fuel pump and injectors, lots will recommend head studs as well at that point.

GREAT info Mike, thanks! Looks like I want the step two, which means I'll be needing a upgraded fmic w/a 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid.

I'm ready for a tune, just going to go ahead and tune w/o the FMIC. I'm stuck between RRE and COBB...
