Stock wing or no wing? (turn 8 WSIR)

For visibility reasons I removed the stock GSR wing on my Evo X.

on turn 8 at big willow at over 120mph the rear end of my car tended to get noticeably loose. Would keeping the wing on make the car feel significantly better planted?. I guess maybe the question is whether the stock wing really does contribute an appreciable amount of downforce at those speeds and is worth keeping on. I really don't want to deal with putting in on and taking it off repeatedly if its contribution is negligible.

The car is currently set up with the Muellerized Stage 1+ which consists of Swift R springs and Eibach sway bars and alignment. Stock Yoko A13Cs were used on the runs at a warmed up 40psi. I don't have alignment numbers on me right now.

The faster you go, the more you will feel it. I'd say its very useful for a high speed track.
The factory put it there for a reason.

Nominally I agree with that statement, but some parts are more for appearance than actual benefits and actually have a detrimental effect on drag coefficient or even worse, generate lift. Which is why I was inquiring about the large GSR spoiler.

I'll probably end up putting it back on for the next track day, at least for the day. Because really the right answer is "try it out yourself" whether the incremental benefits are worth the hassle of blocked visibility. It's not just something I want to be repeatedly removing/reinstalling for track days. Or maybe I'll just have to suck it up and do that.

I put my wing back on because of T8-9 and T1 at WSIR.

I think the Evo X is a very good looking car without the wing. But depending on the situation, function should be considered over form. Either way, it'll look great!

Put the wing on for WSIR and BW.

Also for SOW CW if you plan to go thru the chicane in 5th gear. It will help...
