Thread: Matt Dennison aka "o-townFLA" stroker build

Thanks for the encouraging words. I really couldn't have done it without the help of RRE and the drive from the community.

The oil situation was mainly made due to cost and still wanting to be married, as a Magnus dry sump can set you back any easy $5k... But is definitely an option as Magnus and Norton make it readily available.

Lod from RRE made a trick oil priming thingamajig which made priming the motor super easy. Really a simply solution to a tedious job...

The ceramic coating -vs- wrap is such a subjective subject. And it's really hard for me to give an answer as I'm no metallurgy specialist. So I'll leave it at that.

Full-Race did say a coating would be beneficial, along with Art and Lod of RRE/S-empire so I did. When searching around I found a local shop that does the ceramic coating using Cerakote. Which is used heavily in firearms and of course in header/manifold coatings. Looking over reviews of this stuff looks like I found a winner, but we'll really see after some track use...

I personally like the Norris designs dry sump due to the engineering quality and it looks like a better option the way things are set up. C'mon what's another 5grand anyway lol. I am curious about the coating as well so looking forward to seeing the feedback.

Interesting priming job. Can't wait to see how everything performs.

Had my car on display at the Road Race Engineering booth during Mitsubishi Owners Day (MOD)...

It was pretty much the debut of the car since the entire makeover...

Ha... Don't get to many of the driver shots... Thanks Craig...!

Looking good there. I mean the car that is hehehe.

In the quest to run faster lap times I wanted to focus on brake cooling. As we all know stoping a 3k pound car with a decent amount of horsepower is taxing on our stock Brembo's. Granted they have been great with Raybesto ST-43 pads, Centric blanks, and Motul RBF600 but I have cooked them during a Time Attack session... I like to use my brakes only once and back on the gas, so I'm pretty heavy on 'em...

With brake kits in the $500+ dollar category I thought I could put together my own kit and put the saved the money towards other go fast bits...

My kit consist of the following:
    - Binary Engineering brake duct nozzles http://www.binaryeng.com/products%20...e%20ducts.html
    - clear NACA ducts
    - 2" to 3" adaptors
    - 2" high temp silicone brake ducting

Most of the parts were purchased from Racer Parts Warehouse except for Jared's Binary brake duct nozzles...

    Total cost:
    - well below $300...!!!

And that's with no special discount! You can't beat that...!

The final install is a 2-fold win... It not only looks clean, it aids in increasing frontal downforce by allowing high pressure air to be applied on the front bumper lip and canards, and not being wasted by blowing through a huge opening...

    Binary "mustache" brake duct nozzle

I heat gunned the duct to wrap around the bumper inlet...

F/R... Here you can see the relocated power steering cooler. The oil cooler was rerouted to the front of the car..

Bumper is misaligned due to soft install...

For the 2in silicone ducting do they have any different colors or did you want that specific color? Just curious.

Modified mag covered the GTA event at Willow. Got some great coverage and was even able to give the writer a ride shotgun that he added to the write up...

S-Empire/RRE helped build a custom o2 housing/downpipe combo along with the dump tube when we installed the Full-Race awesomeness... We also fabbed up a trick intake pipe...

Matt@RRE fabbed up some trick heat deflectors too, while I wrapped and applied silver reflective tape and heat wrap along with a PTP Turbo blanket to the hot stuff...

    FINISHED PRODUCT...

Goes to show that Road Race Engineering can do it all...!!!

Professional Awesome driver Dan O'Donnel did a sweet write up for the up and coming Global Time Attack x SuperLapBattle. It encompasses what GTA/SLB is all about and some driver bio's...
