    CBR 600RR or R6 yamaha

    I can't decide between the repsol or the R6, I'm thinking in getting the R6 with the front of the R1, I went to check the r6 today.

    I'd personally go for the R6, but the CBR has better handling (imo).

    I've owned 2 600RR's. light and nimble bike. Yamaha has more top end power which can require more effort in street riding. Honda bikes are better built, as well. My opinion, of course.

    After riding both bikes (Street, Highway, Canyon) I would personally go with the CBR600. The R6 does look better IMO but that's because the CBR has had almost the same look since 2003 with minor changes to fairings and headlights etc. The R6 is definitely a head turner especially with their color combinations.

    From a riding perspective the CBR wins cornering on the CBR feels better than the R6. Although the r6 is the more "track" bike out of the 2 the CBR feels better because it of it's weight. The CBR is more nimble IMO and turning into corners was much easier on the CBR than the R6.

    Also the sitting position on the CBR is more comfortable than the R6. The R6 sits too high, I'm 5'11'' and I can't plant both feet on the ground with the r6. The ergonomics on the R6 is more for the track IMO. There is more pressure on your wrist for daily driving compared to the CBR. Seat cushion was softer on the CBR IIRC.

    As Henry stated, the R6's power is more on the top end so for daily driving the lack of low end and mid range can get annoying especially on hills. The CBR's powerband is more in the mid range and the low end so it's easier for street use.

    Honestly, I would go to a dealership and sit on both bikes and see which one you would think fits you well. If you have trusting friends with those bikes ask for a test ride etc. It also all depends on what you're planning to use the bike for.

    I remembered the only thing I didn't like about the CBR when I was looking for a bike was that Honda required full coverage insurance to purchase the bike. IMO the only benefit from having full coverage is if your bike gets stolen etc.

    Why arnt you considering the gsxr or zx6r? As others said the cbr is very nimble. I think gsxr is best all around bike of the bunch

    ^Because everybody has those bikes.

    I would get the R6. The entire 600 series is so close together in performance as far as that price range goes, I'd just go with what's different and fits me better. I'm more comfortable on an R6 than the others and you can tell an R6 from the rest of the pack from a good ways off as far as looks go.

    If you want to spend a little more, a Triumph Daytona is one hell of a bike.

    Just buy my 2009 R1 :D

    I think you need to decide its main purpose. Commuter? or Track? Stay out of the Canyons (Just my .02)

    GSXR's have always been the more comfortable ride for me but I am partial to the Yamahas. I've own and ridden all except Kawi's
    I've had 03 R6, 03 CBR 600RR, 05 GXSR 600, 2006 YZF R1, 2007 YZF R1 and finally the 2009 YZF R1 and the most comfortable one for me was the GSXR.

    In the end the choice is yours :D

    Yup, the choice is yours in the end. As someone mentioned up top, sit on them and see how it feels...that's by far the best deciding factor.

    I've owned an R6 in the past and also have had quite a bit of seat time in my friend's CBR600RR and looks aside I actually preferred the ride and handling characteristics of the Honda. I agree with other people's observations of the seat height, body position, etc. - the R6 is more track oriented and not as good of a street bike. Honestly, try both and go with the one that feels more at home for you - the ultimate performance delta is miniscule and not likely to be realized by the average rider.

    I wish I could stay away from the canyon but that's the way I need to drive for going to work, I decided and I'm gonna get the r6.
