When to Change Oil if I hardly ever drive??

I have a Evo IX that I bought new. It has about 11,500 miles on it and about less than 300 since I last changed the oil with Mobile 1, 2 years ago. I only bring it out every few weeks to exercise it and other than that it just sits in the garage. How often should I be changing the oil Thanks for your Help! Have a happy and safe 4th!!

I know that's what the manufacture says but I'm thinking the oil can't break down much from just sitting in the pan..

Same here, i dont really drive mine too but still 3k or 3 month, which ever comes first.

You know its better than sorry.

Or since you only put down 300 miles per year, i say change it every 5,6 month BUT CHECK the oil level every time you drive it.

I'll be more concern regarding fuel, how often you add more or refill ... but I'll change oil just not worry about it for another 2 years :P

yeah. I know what you mean about the fuel... I should be adding a stabilizer. I'll put that on my to do list. I'm going to do an oil change this weekend as well. I'll have to also go for a long cruise with the wifey and enjoy the car! Thanks for the input!

change every 6 months, at least that's what i do since 3 months is too often when you hardly drive your car.

Wow..im jealous! 11k miles :O

But yeah i recently started driving my car once every week and only put like 15 miles on it each time. but still change the oil every 2800-3k miles

Was this thing locked up in a storage ? why don't you drive it??????

If you take it out once or twice a year, change it yearly. It's synthetic motor oil. It doesn't break down like regular oil does. If you just take it out monthly, maybe do it every 6 months at the earliest.
