Thread: SAFETY RECALL - 5MT Evo X built between December 12, 2007 – March 5, 2013

Got my car back now and clutch engagement is definitely lower now and pedal feels a little softer. Took a few minutes to get use to it but overall it's great. I do notice a faint clicking sound when releasing clutch. You really have to listen to it but if you're OCD about small things like that it can seem louder lol. When driving you'll won't hear because of how loud the cars are.

Btw I did go in there with mods. Bolts + Tune. Service Advisor did not ask/say anything about mods.

Update: Clutch engagement has returned to it's initial state. No issues as of yet with new CMC.

What dealer did you go to? I might go to the Glendale one since it's the closest to me

I don't recommend Glendale. At all.

Oh and FWIW, my 2014 didn't get a letter so if any of you guys have a 2014 you should be fine. Now that I think of it...I did notice, and I still do, that the clutch on the 2014 engages earlier and is ridiculously lighter than my 2011. The 2011 was so damn heavy!

Bad service huh? That sucks, puente hills? If not I may just force myself to drive all the way to southcoast, nice to hear that the clutch engages better

Btw guys... just want to throw this out there:

Since I'm slightly modified and would still like to retain my warranty (and I also still distrust the new "better and yet still plastic" CMC), I purchased a Magnus kit and sent the receipt to Mitsubishi.

That's a great idea, I wonder if they'd reimburse you for paying for the labor as well

For some reason i felt my CMC a little stiffer and harder after getting it back on Tuesday after I took it to South Coast Mitsu... Engagement feels way better thats for sure.

What else? wait... WRX Wagon !!!
So that means if I have RRE done my clutch + CMC, I can ask MMNA for a partially reimbursement?

    Labors + Magnus CMC cost??

    WOW, couldn't be happier !!

Can anyone tell me if there's a good reputable dealer around L.A. area, I'm in Palmdale. I usually go to KTM for my major services, thanks in advance.
Or maybe I'll probably wait it out a bit til the mechanics can get it down to a science.
I just have a feeling the dealer some how will mess things up and tell me the clicking sound that I hear is normal.

I got mine done last week since it's pre-March 2013 build. You'll get a letter in the mail (unless you moved). Pedal fees softer but not lower engagement. No complaints. The main thing you need to worry about is the dealer's competence. Do some research on their service dept.

If you plan on taking it to Glendale Mitsubishi, make sure you talk to service writer Chris. As long as you know who to talk to at Glendale Mitsubishi you will get the job done right.

Thanks! Makes me feel better, still think I'm going to remove the tune and intake before I take it in, maybe even the exhaust, don't want the warranty voided

I recently purchased a 2012 MG X Gsr and am reading about this. Is it something I should be concerned about? how do i check if my car was made between those periods when the manual transmission was recalled? I also need to go back in to get lojack installed. I got it like last week so im waiting on the stealership to setup an appointment for that.

More than likely you're eligible, you can check on the door jambs.
