Went to fill up on E85 at Propel in Fullerton few weeks ago (specifically January 8th). Noticed something wasn't right when after filling up the car took about 10 tries to turn over. Drove the car home and seemed ok. The next day the car didn't seem to run right. The car would bog and experience hesitation with any kind of load when boost coming in at around 3k. Since then the car has always been giving me trouble starting up.
I let the car sit at home for a week until I was able to take it in to have it looked at. Turns out there was black gunk in the fuel system. Ran E85 straight for about 5000 miles until that day. Right now it's on pump gas and it's running ok as long as you stay under 3k RPMS. I'm hoping running pump gas clears the black gunk and goes back to normal. Some of the research I did said just run pump gas until it eventually clears. However, I can't seem to find anything on someone saying everything went back to normal after doing so.
Little info about my car: Evo X RC Engineering 1200 Injectors, DW Fuel Pump, exhaust, intake, uicp, and tune. Car has 17700 miles.
Has anyone experience this? If so did things eventually clear up after running pump gas?
