Anywhere I can get an Evo head ported by someone reputable and knowledgable in porting the Evo head? I really don't want to ship it out of state but if it comes down to it, I just may have to. Let me know what you guys think.

It's better ship the head. Contact the know reputable shops and ask the right questions and take a decision.
Looks like that's what I'm going to have to end up doing.
I am pretty sure RRE has someone in So. Cal. You might want to PM Mike W, or just email [email protected]
I would consult with one of the local evo-related shops to see who they recommend. I would then go there and see the operation for yourself and then make a decision from there. Goodluck to your build. Definitely post pics when its done. I love seeing engine porn .
Go see Tom at portflow, the only option better than tom is a cosworth CNC head.
RS STwhy? four doors, two seats, 23 psi of boost...
Maybe a shop can provide a better feedback or recommendation. I read from book " How to Build Max-Performance Mitsubishi 4g63t Engines" that porting a head manually is not going to help a lot for our old 4G63 engines, but maybe I read it wrong. There is a suggestion what really helps is use advance computerized porting, I mean nothing cheap...
I looked at the portflow website and it was very simple and basic. I know this is something that I will gain more knowledge and answers by going to them and speaking to them and seeing the operation for myself. But feedback is always a good thing too which gives people a wide array of info hopefully empirical data of course. I will continue the research as usual.
Aby aka Mil.Spec had head work on his car before he did his own at port flow, so that's saying something to me as far as quality of work. They do a lot of the formula drift cars too, so I'd definitely say you're pretty safe going to port flow for any type of head work. You may find somewhere cheaper but remember you get what you pay for in this industry.

This is all info that is good to know. I wonder who they recommend doing the bottom end of the engine as well as mating the 2 together? I like to try and keep the amount of parties that do the motor to a minimum to try and keep continuity as much as possible. I like people who pay attention to detail and are very anal.
All my buddies recommended portflow when I first brought up the interest of getting the head ported. I didn't know many people in the 4g63 community used them and wasn't sure on the feedback. They are definitely a reputabled company in the Honda world I just wanted someone who specializes with evos. Obviously my question has been answered, I will be in touch with PortFlow once the bottom end is nearing completion.
Remember.....Portflow is probably one of the only shops in the USA that isn't a private race team who has a Newen contour machine. Guys who port heads for a living get excited about this machine. It is the most accurate and clean cutting valve seat machine out there. Tom has been around for awhile now, and is well respected in the industry.
Read about it on their website:

^ Not sure if he did a 3-angle or 5-angle. I left it in his hands.

I am not a pro at this however, due to the design of our heads we simply do not have enough material/space to even benefit from a 5angle/radius valve job. That is why I was curious if Mister got a 5angle because maybe possibly the Newen machine could somehow make it work. However, I will assume for now that he received a 3angle job. Now the real question is at what angle were the valves and seats cut too to allow for optimal flow? I would assume portflow flow-benched the head and would have numbers to support their work as well.
-Mister, did you receive any spec card for your head? And if not would you be able to get one?
