of course the new sti is going to feel good. You have an older car with all the usual wear and tear on it and just drove a brand new one. It's going to feel like the better car. That's just the way it would feel. If you had an older sti and drove the new one, the comparisons would feel the same too.
What i'd advise is to keep your mr, and get the new wrx. Take less of a hit and still get close to the sti's performance. The new sti is still using old technology under the hood, while the new wrx is using a di 2.0 at least. Or if anything do yourself a favor and get an x. In the new sti you are getting a re-skinned car with just some new bells and whistles but using practically the same engine versus the evo x which is all new from the ground up compared to the previous model.
