    e85 question

Hello I drive a 2006 evo 9 tuned both on 91/e85. I was tuned on pump e85, I was wondering is it ok to run a blended e85 mix like the e85 blend that ftw sells. Would there be any gains to doing this besides a consistent e85 fuel? Or are gains only possibly with a retune

You would want to be tuned for it to be worth it.

If it was a race car competing for fame, cash and all the glory around the country, I'd run the pro level E-85 race gas blends. You would know it would be consistent where ever you go. We see a very consistent E-82 to E-83 from what people bring in from all over So Cal and the two stations local to the shop. The cars actually gets tuned on E-80ish with the little bit of 91 left in the tank.

I don't totally understand this but for months, I was getting E80-79 or so at Arcadia. Then, right about 3 weeks ago, it jumped to E82-84 consistently. Call it summer blend or whatever but I would say, E85 is always +/- about 5%. I fill up with E85 1-2 times a week when using my EVO as a daily as I have been for the past month or so.

so you're running a dual map switch installed by RRE? Do you have to run the tephra mod to use the dual map switch? I wanna have RRE install it on my IX but I've heard about the tephra mod giving people a lot of problems.

I have the tephra mod to switch maps and have had ZERO problems with it, even when I run out of e85 and have to do an emergency fill up on 91 . Rre tunes are excellent I wouldn't be worried about having a problem with ir
