that depends on how your car is set up and what fuel you are running. If someone is tuning your car, they will probably have an idea. If they have done a bunch of 2.3 builds, then they will probably have a formula depending on how you answer certain questions...is it a daily? a dyno queen? a track monster? 91? E85? ...

For your information, on my 2.3 I am running RC1200s with a walbro 255 on E85 for my daily driver that I track. I am tuned for 91 but I have only ran 1 tank through my car in the last 2 years. Talking about power in relation to what I am running would take a way longer discussion in regards to my set up versus another 2.3 (i.e. turbo, cams, internals, head...).

In reality we really need what your goals are instead of us playing the guessing game, if your going to continue on stock turbo and intercooler anything over 1200 is overkill even with e85. You talking about upgrading to a fp red/black ect we start talking stuff like 1600's but give us your END GOAL and we will give you a realistic response. And injectors are something you may want to discuss with whoever it is that is tuning your car since they tend to have a preference, some prefer ID's some prefer DW ect high imp low imp all play a factor

You need to pick a tuner first. Then talk to him about the small details in the entire setup, not just what size and brand injectors. Whoever will be tuning your car will hopefully already done hundreds. He will have seen many setups that suck, many that rocked. Some where the guy seemingly let his cat pick random shit from E-bay, some where kids from the other side of the country held sway on his opinion, some setups where the guy was on his 3rd EVO and had been there and done that and knew exactly what he wanted, others that actually asked the tuner what is currently working best and gives the bang for the buck. Hopefully you have a tuner that you trust and has seen it all.

If you will be self building and self tuning... ask away here and on EVOm. You will be more cornfused after hearing all the random answers than when you started. Stroker or no stroker does not determine injectors size.

If you might do a dual E85/91 map down the road, that will determine your injector size. Some of my friends ask me how I chose my build components. I actually didn't really. I just let RRE decide. I trust their expertise. My input was more based on what I wanted and not based on internet information about compression and parts and other complicated shit that I have no real clue about. I read the 4G63 book...the one written by Robert Garcia at RRE...but honestly, I don't understand all that shit. RRE does though. They were building 2.3 4G63s back when most of us were still trying to learn how to wear big boy underpants.

When my engine build started, RRE had just finished building Jay from JDMEGO's 2.3 engine, and while mine was built, I believe there were 2 other 2.3 motors being done at the same time all to similar specs. RRE has the experience and knowledge to understand what works best for each customer's intended use. Because my car is a street car first and a track car second BUT since I always run E85, I have 1200cc injectors. However, if you were only running 91 and not trying to hit the highest HP ever on 91, 1200s might be overkill. Regardless, any tuner can scale 1200s for 91 and leave the window open for a 2nd map on E85 whenever you want it.

outside of all this though, just hit up your tuner and start having this discussion. They will have an idea of what you should do or not do. Keep us posted!!

Couldn't agree more with James and David.... You need to speak with whoever will be doing the work and tuning the car and pick their brain.

I am on 1200's and am exclusively on E85.... I don't think my car will ever drink 91 again after being on Corn.

    To the OP,
Mike W has a lot of experience in this subject, or choose a tuner of your choice.
Rather than buying random unnecessary injectors on which you might not need for your set up.
From there, I would select a plan of action base on your needs. Nothing is just basic once you choose a path in the mod world.
