Anyone with experience with Federal 595 RSR?

Hi, loking at a set of 265/35/18 Federal 595 RSR for the evo on my RPF1s, i know the treadwear is 140 but has anyone have any personal experienc with these tires for daily driving? I do mainly highway driving to work and some occasional canyon driving. A shop near me has a full set for $550 installed.

I'm not a race car driver and only drive my car some what spirited on the weekends. I have that exact size and I have to admit for the price of the tire, it's quality isn't bad at all. I've driven the car for about a month and a half now and the tires still look pretty brand new. It feels planted through hard cornering and is sticky enough to fill my rear diffuser with rocks and debris for me to admire after I'm done driving.

I have them on in my evo VIII right now and had them too in the past. Like squirmos87 said, they are not bad at all especially for their price. I have taken them in a few spirited canyon runs and they are pretty grippy.

Federals aren't too bad. Can be noisy from road noise though from my experience

I actually just bought the Hankook Evo V12's less than 500 miles ago and they are not bad for a DD. However, I got them (in early December) because the RSR's were on back order until February but even then they didn't know for sure if they would be available, so me being impatient after just getting my new RPF1's, I couldn't wait.

If you are looking for the 265/35/18 and want a good deal on them I would be happy to part with mine, since I want to get more of a dual purpose track/ DD tire. LMK

I am about to run these in 255/35 on 18x10.5 I have heard every where that these run about a size and a half bigger than other tires.. I also found a thread on these tires on another forum (Nissan) from Germany and everyone had good reviews on them..

stumbled upon this old thread but I've had my 595 RSRs for several months now. that low treadwear number looks scary but I still have a good amount of meat left on my tires. I haven't even rotated my tires either. I daily my 9 and I do 800-1200 miles monthly. very sticky when warm. they screech a bit when cold. I was hydroplaning all weekend but that rain was pretty serious. I'm a speed limit or lower type of driver tho so your results may differ from mine. I do jam on it from time to time and I feel confident going around turns and corners in these tires

Update from my last post. My tires had only about 3-4k miles of DD and all four tires are starting to get "lumpy" not sure if its from camber or defective tires? Maybe because they were stretched and the 255/35 tires have a lower load tolerance I think its like 89 rating and the evo x is heavier?

perhaps you need a better alignment? I got a corner balance and alignment from Gilbert immediately after the tires went on. my tread looks perfect...just worn. I drive slower than the average person lol. I'm also only on stock wheels so the 235/45/17 seem to have held up very well. I think I've put over 10k on my tires already. no lumps. not sure what it is...everyone has a different outcome which is understandable

I am on my second set of Federal RS-R after having run the previous set for two years of occasional hard cornering and grip testing, still had decent life left for daily. Dry traction is good, wet traction not as good but they are summer tires. Price is good as well, I paid $470 for size 245/35-18.

Also, RSR's > V12's imo. Great as a DD tire with some spirited driving :P

Read somewhere they are coming up with a new 595 RS-RR with better tire compound for grip. Not available yet in USA but coming soon. Wait for it.

product of Taiwan so I thought they were crap but I'm Taiwanese so I gave them a try haha. with that being said...I'd get another set! I also think they're better than V12s and I think they're slightly cheaper too! now I'm curious about the new RSRRs

I'm starting to think I got a bad batch because my alignment was done correct. Asides from negative camber, everything else was in spec. Could it be that my coilovers aren't set to the correct preload? Anyway it sucks there is no warranty on these tires because they're not meant for street use. Oh well.
