    Why are S2k owners dicks?

Just wanted to start a thread regarding this.
Lol, I mean I love s2k, they were some cars I really wanted to own when I was younger. But why are most s2k owners dicks in my area? (Rowland heights, Alhambra, Chinese populated area.)

I remember when I had my 350z, they were doing many dick moves all the time.
Now with my EVO x, it is the same thing.
I really don't wanna start any high speed chasing on the street, so I usually let them pass.
But these fuckers are worse than all other car/brand communities I have known.
What makes these guys think they own the road....?

Well, maybe the problem is the car has become more affordable, so this means a younger group of buyers is able to pick one up for pretty cheap. Not super cheap but its easier now. I had an s2k for a long time and was very active on s2ki.com Even now over there its a bit assholish to me. Maybe I m wrong. I get the same thing too and when I look over its some younger s2k driver. Im 43 so... maybe I'm just old and cranky

This is how I feel about the Evo scene. Now that they are affordable more extremely dumb owners have them and I wish I could take their keys and band them front any Evo.

^ I sort of agree with Rawger there. I think the Evo is still a really special car, but not sure if a lot of current owners feel that way. I haven't forgotten when they weren't sold here and we just had to wish about seeing one/getting one/driving one. Now it's just the newest DSM. FWIW, i like DSMs and GVR4s.

Regards to the topic, this is a theme that transcends brand or model for the most part.

I own an s2k and i mind my own business. I don't screw around on the street. Perhaps this is more of an age issue than a brand issue. Or maybe it's a locality thing? I go to a s2k meet in Tustin on a semi-regular basis. All different ethnicities, and for the most part it's younger people, call it 20-30. I haven't seen a lot of stupid BS there. Everyone is pretty mellow and respectful.

The old Torrance s2k meets where super mellow and the ages were all over the place. We'd be out there till like 2am and never any issues. I'm not sure they even have it any more.

I was thinking maybe s2k owners think their cars are special.
I have never driven one, though I sit in one before.
I just couldn't fit myself in the car very comfortably(6'2 here).
Probably because I have never actually driven it, so I never understand s2k's owners mentality.

I have hung out with dudes with STi/wrx, Si, BMWs, all cool dudes with decent knowledge and respectful.
It just feels S2k owners are standing out in a very negative way.
I used to have a neighbor who had a s2k. There was 1 night, I was cruising in my 350z on street 5 mpg above speed limit. The s2k behind me passed me through the incoming traffic lane and rev the heck out of it. I was like what the fuck.
A few nights ago, a s2k was tailing me on the off freeway ramp, and again, rev the fuck out of it when he passed me.
Today, I saw another s2k owner was talking shit about EVOs.
I am not really bothered, but I am having trouble to understand s2ks owners.

Seriously, for people who had/has a s2k, what does the car mean for you? Is it really a non-replaceable machine that you think is superior to everything? Does it really make you feel like "A king of the street"?

But dont you have to rev the shit out of them to even get out of your own way with those things? They dont make any torque. I think you are confusing "dick moves" for what they call "driving"

I got a thumbs down bye a silver s2k with RPF1's. I was about to throw my drink at him.
but I took a breath and said I hope his house burns down and his mom dies.

    ^LOL

For srsly. I never experience any of this stuff. I've even taken my evo to the s2k meet. No haters. ????

That said we manufacture a couple of s2k parts at work. I recall several years ago we had a run in with a particularly arrogant, prick of an s2k owner.

But still i don't think it's an s2k thing as much as it's a "me and my car are so cool" thing. This applies to any douche with a "cool car".

im saying all of this in a speculative manner. but I blame youtube.com I feel like a lot of what people project about (any number of things) their cars is what they have seen on youtube, they think they can drive like the jun s2k touge battle that beat the evo. by watching and reading this media inflates peoples perception of what they can/a car is going to do. its also the last zenith of Honda sports perfromace, so as Honda fanbois they have nowhere else to go.

ill be frist to admit it IMHO would take a lot more skill to drive similarly HP s2k fast then a CZ4A. but just because a car is capable of being driven as such does not mean the driver can achieve that level of skill, or project build they have seen on youtube. I think people believe to much in potential then in reality.

the only s2k I have had any experience with had a greddy turbo kit with like 6-8 pounds of boost. it was ok, I wasn't impressed by how this s2k handled. and as a daily it soo small and loud since you need over 5k im rpms to feel any TQ. shit I feel guilty when I take my EVO over 5k.

a stock s2k is very slow no matter how many bolt ons, hondata or whatevs. but like the Miata its a good little car but being fast is not something you can pound your chest about.

LOL at some of the misinformed posts on this thread.

I have both and have had both for quite some time. The same can be said for Evo owners, partcularly this new crop of owners. There is a good and bad group with both camps and with both the Evo and S2000 getting more affordable for the masses it inherently brings a lot of bad apples.

Personally the S2000 meets that i've attended have all been great. The same can't be said for many of the Evo meets i've attended where it seems this new crop is more interested in Tuner wars, low balling and street racing/shot calling.

Anyone can be a dick in any kind of car. S2k owners for the most part in my experience are all pretty cool except for a few kids that had their parents buy them their cars. Honestly the worst crew right now in my opinion are the BRZ/FRS owners!!! They are the absolute worse, I work at a Toyota dealer and see these guys everyday... I always get some guys coming in here saying that I hear a weird noise/vibration at 7,000+ rpms...lol Plus, over half of them think they have the fastest car ever made while they are still rolling around on their Prius tires...

Yup agreed. I have seen it from being a prat of clubrsx, s2ki to audizine.com and now here. Some really cool people and then some total douches. It's not the car it is the guy/girl driving it. that being said I had a some one in stock s2k rev and rev at me this morning. LOL

like everyone above me has said, it's not such much a specific type of car, it's bubbles down to the owner. I've even met several evo owners at car meets that came off as cocky pricks.... civic owners are my favorite

Please refer to the " Do we deuce Ralliarts and Subarus" thread. Lol. It really does come down to the owner. I know a few people with S2K's who are extremely down to earth and cool. But, kids will be kids
