That's what we're hoping for..
Some work done over the weekend over at CMBuildz getting our brakes in check this year. Brakes were a huge problem for us all last year. After removing the brake booster and ABS, it was a full manual set up. The stock brembos are know to flex and we were experiencing major knock back issues. To resolve this issue we partnered up with The Brake Man and picked up their F4 calipers for the front with their 3/4" revolutionary rotor and their F3 caliper for the rear. Just in weight savings over all we saved about 20 pounds.
What is major is the weight saving of the unsprung weight where our Performance frictions roughly weigh in at 18-19 lbs new, these new rotor weigh in at 10.4 lbs each. I have a scale coming in to take more accurate weights but the weight of the caliper was weighed at The Brake Man's shop. The caliper is 4.2 lbs for the front.
Part of this install will also incorporate our Tilton 600 Series Pedal set. Now our front and rear will have individual master cylinders as well as the clutch. We will have a brake bias installed as well to control the front to rear balance. We are using the 76 series master cylinders for our set up.

Been going to him for years and being "unofficially" fastest stock block evo at Buttonwillow, he's been the one that has been keeping this car in check.
It will be nice to have brakes that actually work and not be double pumping. The pedal feel and modulation on this set up swill be light years ahead of the old set up allowing for more precise control on corner entry.

Here is a snap shot of the weight savings break down on swapping out the factory brembo brakes to the TBM set up. Weights are without brake pads on both the Factory Brembos and TBM F4 and F3's.

Damn 27lbs is a nice chunk of unsprung weight! Those TBM rotors look interesting. How do they do with regard to heat transfer compared to a conventional rotor design?
They use a high quality grade steel rotor which is 3/4" thick. People have used steel brakes before, but prior "flat plate" steel rotors had a tendency to 'dish' or 'bevel' after one or two races. They took it further by engineering a convoluted design that utilized the hard properties of steel to create a stronger rotor. Then they applied a Dynamogenic thermal processing to the rotors to remove all internal stress. What's left is a strong and completely rigid rotor capable of hitting glowing red heat conditions which has huge unsprung weight advantages as well.

We just recently picked up TRE as a sponsor, and will be going with their Stage 3 Rebuild / Ultimate Ratio Transmission with an HKS 4.11 final drive. We ran stock Evo 8 gearing last year, which isn't exactly the best especially coming from the Evo IX gearing that I ran in my personal car. We have been told this is probably about 1.5 seconds around the BRP circuit. I personally think that's a bit optimistic, but we will see. Switching to 5th gear at certain spots around Buttonwillow was less than ideal with boost falling off a bit even when revving out fourth a bit higher. Putting power aside, it is probably part of the reason we saw such big top speed deltas compared to the current record holder. For the start finish I wouldn't even switch to 5th, I would just bounce off the limiter in fourth just as I passed the start finish line.
The nose chop and new V-mount set up makes engine removal MUCH MUCH easier as the engine was removed in about a hour. Tranny will be removed this weekend and shipped to TRE next week.

My guess is the tranny will net 2 sec on its own
I wouldn't get too excited about those brakes till you get the pedal box and masters implemented

AME TM-02 in 18 x 11 +10. These wheels offer superior rigidity over the RPF-1 we ran last year, which will handle the aero and cornering loads much better offering a more stable feel in the corners. The RPF1 will actually flex under extreme loads. The extra .5" in width will also complement the Hankook 295/30/18 TD. This is the exact same wheel and spec that the legendary Cyber Evo ran. We are extremely happy to have partnered with AME North America for 2015.

How much weight in wheel tire setup from before versus now. RPF1 18x10? + 285/30/18 TD vs AME 18x11 + 295/30/18 TD. That is rotational unsprung weight at its furthest.
