HMSA Spring Club event. Weather was beautiful yesterday. I work on the tech crew. Thought i'd share some pics. Been hoping i'd be able to get on track for just a little bit but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen; the schedule is way too tight due to sound limits on a bell curve. 90 db from 8am to 10am then 103 til 3pm, where it drops back to 90. :/ Anyway here is some pics from Friday/Saturday.
Setup tech here at the pumps, evo gets a cameo.
MB of El Cajon hooked us up with this '15 CLS 400 for Pace Car. Those guys are awesome!! A damn nice car too.
Friday afternoon did some roaming tech. Got to meet the Park family. Father and two sons, and they all get out and race these together. The cars here are great but so are the people. They've had all the cars for a long time, each have a great story and no two are the same. All are 289 cars and the slab side in the foreground is one of the five FIA cars Shelby did. So grateful to have met these guys. More about them here: http://jalopnik.com/mr-cobras-garage...lby-1668679852
A little newer than we usually see, but a treat to see them out there. Amazing technology.
lol
Nothing like a shot of Jager to start the day.
77 934.5. Probably my fav car of this event. This car is from Poland, and was in a 10 year customs hold. Today it still wears its original paint and is arguably one of the most complete and original 34.5s in the world. It's crazy how alot of the tech on this car is 40 years old but so much of it is still relevant. For example, the original turbo on these uses a ball bearing center cartridge. The design looks old school for sure, and it's great to see how the stuff trickles down to where it is now.
Vintage Nascar...had to take a pic of the bay because it's awesome how low and far back that v8 sits. Most of the engine sits below the top of the front tires.
Looking forward to today :) Hopefully the weather stays nice.
