You should be fine
Do you have any thing else done
What problem are you having with dv?
tuned by road race with cat less exhaust and aem short ram intake... my car was pushing 26 psi for boost now its only pushing 16 to 21 sometimes and makes a whistle/whining noise and smells like straight exhaust in the cab... idk whats going on with it
Ya that's pushing the limit on the stock bov. You might want to crush it before switching over to another bov. But if you do switch go with tial.
what do u mean by crush it? and if i get a new one can i just throw it on?
You will need to retune
Crushing it is exactly what it sounds. You crush the top of the stock bov and it hold more boost. I'll try to find a video of someone doing it, it's old so I'll have to find it... And ya you'll need s retune on most bov but I put in my tial qr without a retune for a wile an ran fine. Forge and greddy is also a good stick replacement bov, you won't have to change any parts to run those bov like the tial.
Sounds like u mite have a boost leak. I use to run 29psi on my 9 metal bov zero issue.
Pictures on all for sale/for trade threads is being enforced!
Crushing the top of the BOV will help hold boost a little better. But if you switch to a different BOV you might need a re-tune.
Running low boost suddenly is not an indication of a bad BOV. Sure, it is a _possibility_. The first thing to do would be to check all the intercooler pipes and hoses and clamps that have been monkeyed with recently. If nothing is obviously loose or falling off, then do a boost leak check. If done properly that same boost leak test would also show if the BOV went bad. If the boost leak check is done wrong, then it will make you think that the BOV is leaking when it is not.
There is no reason for a BOV on a relatively new car to suddenly go bad. Cheaper than the current route you are taking (random guessing and asking the internets) would be to have someone that knows EVOs have a look and listen to your EVO.
A whistle would be more likely the two bolt flange at the compressor outlet. Has that been messed with lately?

^take it to RRE if it's not an obvious coupler/hose that popped off.
You can do/make your own boost leak tester by following a guide online, but if you don't know what you're doing, you're better off having RRE check it out for you :)
Go with tial or forge
