    What would socalevo do?

SO. Im looking for tires for the new wheels and Is see this ad for buy 2 get 2 free on tires in stock. damm that's good, so I call and ask for 275/35/18 and the only tire they have in stock (that size) is a Nankang Noble Sport NS-20, YUK!

so I could get a set of 4 of these greasy tires for $204+tax. about another $80.oo if I want them to mount and blance them on the car.

but was going to just get the RE760's for/each 183.oo from discount for a total for 811.00 on the car OTD.

so...would you just get the greasy tires and deal with whatevs until you need new ones, or get something decent.

    its about a 500$ saving.

depends! you can get as terrible of a tire as you want if your only goal is to save money. just don't have high expectations when it comes to grip

I don't know much about those tires, other than it's sort of an economy brand, and as we're all aware, tires aren't a place to save money. That being said...

Assuming you are interested in high performance driving, let me ask you this. Do you have another set of wheels you can put some good rubber on for the track or for whatever other situation in which you'll want to exploit the performance capabilities of the car?

I have a set of pretty street wheels with decent UHP all seasons. They last a long time, perform good in the wet, and weren't too much $$, but they suck at the track. I then have my stock VIII wheels shod with tires that do better at the track. So that's one idea.

I would rather to get decent one because of durability.

I wouldn't, even for DD, but if you really need to save the money, go for it.

Buying an evo is to saving money as buying a prius is to take tracking.
