Been out of it for awhile, need some opinions on basic power mods
Been out of the car scene for awhile now and wanted to get a check on what is being used now a days.
I want to do just some basic power mods.
The only thing ive gathered so far parts wise is:
- lower intercooler pipe
- o2 housing
- RRE downpipe
Was planning on fuel pump, injectors and finish out my turbo back but could use some suggestions on injector size and brand for exhaust pieces.
Are test pipes still the go to? Or are high flow cats a better way now?
Any other basic power mods that can be done relatively easy?

You might want to add a boost controller as well

If you like RRE, give them (or whoever will be tuning it) a call/e-mail and have them recommend you the parts.
I used to have a full bolt-on E85 X, but after all the hassle, the new car is more subtle and I'm keeping it that way to avoid state ref's / other attention.
Test pipes will give more power over cats, but you could also use a high flow cat or even a hollowed out stock cat for the similar/the same power and a much more stealth set up.
Injector size depends on if you go E85 or not, but fuel pump for a stock turbo, E85 or not, a Walbro 255 or any other similarly sized fuel pump will be more than sufficient. Exhaust, you can have RRE make you a nice stealth exhaust that flows well, or if you'd rather have a big fart can, ETS makes a great exhaust :)

^ Yep, call RRE and get their input here. As a general rule, working with your tuner on parts selection is usually good for both parties, as they have preferences that can result in more confidence on their end and net you a better, more reliable result. If you aren't going to be the one tuning it, establishing a relationship with one tuner is a good practice. It's like choosing your "go-to" doctor..... your primary care physician.
My favorite 3 port boost control solenoid would be RRE's (it's an Ingersoll Rand unit; they've been in the pneumatics game forever), as i think it's a bit cheaper and yet better than competitors in terms of reliability. As mentioned, their stealth cat backs work good, sound good, and won't get you too much negative attention from law enforcement etc.
Here's a great deal on a test pipe... $50, may only be at this price through the end of day: http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...Code=CLEARANCE
I just moved back to San Clemente, hope to see you around.

Thanks for the advice guys!
Been told to try either: RRE, Massimo or KT motoring.
Gonna give all three a call and see where that goes.

<-- recommend RRE, but they're pretty busy, e-mail might work better :) And I think they're the closest one to you.
All three shops are great though.

complete exhaust
ported exhaust manifold if u r still on stock radiator or same thickness as stock(thin enough to give u room to pull out the ex mani). My megan radiator was thicker, had to flush radiator, pull it out and the entire turbo. It was a bitch lol
**there is also a vid on how to pull out the ex mani, very simple
injectors 1000cc+
fuel pump, walbro 255 r good
uicp
3 port boost controller
dual map 91/e85
and the most important mod of all. I mean, i can't stress enough how many ppl miss this...
The most important mod of all is the socal evo sticker
