Thread: Who here is still the original owner of their Evo VIII or IX?

Who here is still the original owner of their Evo VIII or IX?

I'm sure this thread has been made time and time again, but it's been a while and I'm curious who still has theirs. I know there's a thread about OG 2003 owners but that's just for that one year. So, who left here is still the current and original owner?

I still have my 2006 IX SE that I picked up in February 2007 through SCM. Still bone stock and with 115k miles on the odometer. Aside form the routing services, I've only replaced a leaky radiator in 2016.

I’m not the original owner, but got mine in the beginning of 2010 with 40k miles and bone stock, now it is 75k miles and fully built.

2005 VIII MR. Purchased from HB in 2004, 115k and still driving it. Thank to RRE and TTech helping with all the upgrades, tunes, and fixing issues for all those years.

Not bad, do you have another car as a daily? Those miles are pretty good for a 2005. I thought my mileage was pretty low for it being my only car.

I have another evo and switching between them. I was actually had an 03 evo and sold it before getting the X. Can't get myself to drive a different car yet. LOL.

Haha I know what you mean. I know newer cars have way nicer interiors (and even 10+ years ago the cars then had nicer interiors too) and a lot of similarly powerful engines get better gas mileage, but I can’t seem to consider anything else. My brother got a new 3-Series back in 2014 and it was cool but whatever appeal it had to me wore off pretty quickly.

I’d probably have maybe 10k less miles, but there was a two-year period where I was driving back and forth between OC and Oxnard every weekend when my mom’s health was declining.

I'm not the original owner, but close enough. My brother was the original owner and then I bought it off him in '09 with 96k on the clock. I think now I have 127k on it, I only really drive the car for fun.

    Nice

how many of you guys would be down for a meet within the next few weeks? I know everyone's usually quite busy.

I'd be down. Is this just a regular meet or do you want it to be a small one for original owners?

more like a spring/summer meet. monthly meets usually dont work nowadays since everyone just has something going on. its just the nature of everyone's lives. good thing to prime for MOD in a few months.

How is MOD these days? I haven't gone since 2014, but even around that time, the last few I had gone to was just the same stuff but less and less.

last year wasnt bad. its gotten stale to be honest. not that many big vendors and mostly local shops. essentially one big evo meet with free food and a chance to meet the vendors.

I've never actually been to MOD, it always seems to conflict with work trips or vacations. There are still meets happening weekly, just not Evo specific. There's a group I've been trying to meet up with when possible that runs GMR and the Malibu canyons.

Is it a varied group? I may have seen their posts on another forum.
