The auto tech school I went to had a number of cars like this donated by various automakers. We couldn't drive them. Then you unleash a team of post high school guys on these things like hungry piranha. It was like purgatory for these cars lol.
It's pretty commonplace for this to happen. A lot of the factory backed race cars meet their maker in a similar way.
